Some time ago, I modeled clothes for a fashion show (too bad the /model emote wasn't added then!). It was really fun and we used the center stage of the player cantina as a walkway and had fun posing.

The only thing that threw it off was the "I'm packing and I know how to use it" strut everyone seems to do.

What I propose is adding different types of walks for everyone and maybe some special ones for entertainers. Something very simple to switch to using something like '/walk'. e.g. /walk wounded, /walk bumleg, /walk normal

Walks for Everyone

• wounded


• bum leg


• drunk/stagger


• timid


• angry*


• sad*

*I'm more inclined to keep them seperated from moods since mood can also be used to change the tone of a spiatial message. Suddenly changing strides just for that one comment will look odd.

Walks for Entertainers

• fashion


• sexy

Thoughts? Additions? There could be different 'flavors' of walks too. angry1 could be a stomping angry walk and angry2 could be a furious hurried type of walk.

There supposedly used to be a female walk, but it was deemed too racy and removed from the game. A possible glimpse of what that walk used to be can be seen when walking out of a dance.

I would love for women to have a unique walk. Right now (no offense intended, gals) they seem to lumber. (Watch the STS9 episode #547 "Profit and Lace" for further details about lumbering)

Well you can get creative...

If you have theatrical, start dancing long enough to do flourish 2. That always makes me think of "walking the catwalk".

Nice ideas!

To take it one step further, it would be really great if the walking style would depend on what one is wearing, especially on the footwear.

Yeah. Lilo is barefoot 99% of the time and it sounds like he's wearing clogs or something.

It's a great idea. You should post it in the Core Systems forum. I got some good responses to my idea for vehicle mounting animations.
