Thread: Imperial crackdown on AFK entertainers

Why is that? Do they hurt you somehow?
Great idea! I have recently started pursuing Musician just to try a different aspect of the game. I have gone into a couple cantinas where I knew there to be some traffic but not as annoyingly crowded as the cantina in Coronett, when I get there I had to compete for "customers" with an /afk player. I found this to be very annoying. If I am taking the time to stay at my computer and actually interact with other players I feel I should be getting more people watching me instead of someone who is not there and they end up with the audience because they have a "Master" title.
Even when I was not an Entertainer I found this to be annoying. I always tried to watch players who I thought were not /afk and if they were the only onesavailablethey recieved no tip.

Maybe have it so on your first offence your kick out on the street, second time your incapacitated and kick out on the street. Thethird time left just outside the city where you may get killed by animals, do it again you will far from any city or find yourself in a cloning place if a wild animal gets you before you get back to your computer.
To increase the Fun factor of this I like to make an addition.

Actually Zeritus, yes, they do hurt me. I am working toward Master Musician. There have been several instances where I couldn't get a spot in the group because of all the afk'ers. There was also one time where, as a Novice Musician, I couldn't play the song, it was beyond my ability. We stopped the group and restared but some AFK'er had a macro running which would stop the group and start his highest song every couple minutes. We never did figure out which one. I ended up leaving the group.
Umm....Don't you get a system message everytime someone prepares to stop the band?...I know I do...I get "Erdeid prepares to stop your band."
Oh, and that's just a dumb AFK-macro mistake. Not a problem with being AFK.
Your band leader should have disbanded the group, then rejoined everyone one at a time.
But I like the idea of random NPC's coming in to tip people. I don't like the punishment aspect (SOE will never go for it anyway). Rewards are the name of the game in online games. Of course, I'd like Rebel marines to come through Rebel towns...

i can see how that would work for neutral/imperials, but what about us rebels, we would have been shot to pieces unless we respond with force.

If you’re an overt rebel your in trouble anyway because
will be going into cantina looking for contraband.
Mhahaha
For covert Rebels the
treat you just like any other neutral, because as far as they know you are neutral. The system could do a check and not give unwanted stuff, so guys don get dresses and rebel don''t get Imp FPs.
Hmmm? Arebel may want Imp mission so they could do a little spying or espionage.
