Alright, I am going to start off by telling everyone that I am attempting to do the jedi quest's or grind, whatever you want to refer to it as. I have 4 and half months of about 70 million xp to work through, i dont know if it's 70 million but I know it's going to take damn near that amount to finish all this. Right now I am a master fencer/3000 scout/master musician. I took up musician a few weeks ago dropping my other combat profession cause i was tired of the bore of the game. I had messed with a entertainer on other servers to and actually found it fun. Granted I did afk every once and a while, but who doesnt. Most the time I chilled and talked with friends. Heck being a musician has opened up a side of the game that I was about to stop playing just 2 weeks ago, now i cant wait to get on and just chill and roleplay. Now that I am a master musician, I do mind buff at dant outpost. And yes my macro is setup to where i can afk and i do afk sometimes, but if I am afk, I am usually just watching tv so i am still there, just not punching the keys.

This all leads up to the other night. I had logged on during the day and was chilling with my friend in the cantina, goofing with her. I went afk shortly after this and took a nap, I wasnt even playing my instrument, I just left my guy standing there, well I got up, went to work came back about 8 hours later, still havent played a single lick of music to save myself. Well my friend is there and wanting to mess with her and still pull in some xp, I ask for an invite. I was not in the group 1 min before i was kicked. I kindly asked the leader why he had kicked me. He came back to me with a tell explaining that I had been afk too much that day, mind you, i wasnt even playing an instrument. That I am grinding for jedi and using musician is crime i guess to him. The xp is easy to get for the jedi grind and I get to hang out and talk with others. And becuase I macro buff on dant outpost were his reason for kicking me, which I had just started was the funny part and I am doing buffin on dant as a service and cause I enjoy buffin people with "my music".

This really upset me. I know everyone has gone afk and macro'd, be it for 5 min to all day. I am not an afk bot, I did master musician to buff my friends and to relax and not have to go grind and piss off people in the squill cave cause i can clear the cave in 10 min time. I took up master musician and have learned to enjoy the game even more and because I am glowy and am going through the jedi trials and was afk way to long while not even playing an instrument, I have a bias casted down on me. This crap really p's me off. I was offended and I ended up placing myself right at the front of the steps that night at the theed cantina and giving free mind buffs to take away that groups healing xp. I had a person tell me that I was being a jerk for doing this and that I wasnt even invited into the group, the guy didnt even know I had been kicked. CSR came to talk to me and booted me out of the game.

I am really upset and if you read my in game profile, you will see why i still hang on to playing this game night after night, not cause of jedi, it's not because of money or giving buffs, it's about being a musician and talking with the people in game I care about.

Was it wrong for me to setup shop and boycott there group and steal the healing xp, I got a lot of hate tells for doing it, but I was so upset that they would kick me for doing the trials.

What, exactly is your point? If you were upset, it should have been with one person, the leader who kicked you. Instead you threw a tantrum and engaged in harassing bahavior for the entire band. You stepped outside the bounds of acceptable behavior, and are complaining when these people exercised their rights to get you to stop?

Couldn't have been too traumatic, since I saw you AFK again this morning.

Clue of the day: Starsider Theed is where most of the players who don't like AFKers hang out. If you don't want to ba hassled for your AFKtime, then you might be better off in c'net.

Bonus Clue: People who don't like AFKers really don't like AFKers who are proud of it and try to justify it. Especially when they think they have the right to grief the whole cantina when they dont get their way.

You were not kicked for doing the trials, you were kicked for being AFK. There is a growing group of ATK ents who will not be grouped with AFK ents whatsoever. The leader probably assumed you were getting an invite to go AFK again, since you were AFK all day. Although that being the case I don't know why you got the invite in the first place.

It's the group leader's perogative who to have in the group. There is no rule that says because you are entertaing that the leader must invite you and cannot kick you. Buffbots are an even bigger offense to many ATK ents. Personally, I would have asked if you were going AFK again before inviting you, and would have kept in you in the group as long as you were ATK, but that's me.

Parking yourself in front of everyone to try and take their xp isn't a good way to protest either. Your beef was with the leader of the group, but you hurt everyone else in the group and that's not good. And you were probably spamming that you were giving away buffs. Spam is a sure way to tick every other ATK ent off.

So yes, IMHO, you were wrong for parking yourself in front and taking xp from every other entertainer in the cantina.

Cancelled 7/27/05 - I joined to play Star Wars, not Jedi-BH Wars. You've ignored/gutted/abused just about every other profession in the game, while spending most of your time working on Jedi and BH as they related to Jedi. You've basically killed the game for anyone who doesn't want the glowstick. Congratulations.

I dont get the point of the importance of being in "the
group", if it is not for the XP.

You can talk to anyone while not grouped. If the ones
you want to be talking to want to be in a group with you,
just start your own group.

Lastly it cames up to the groupleader if he invites someone
and if he keeps someone in group. If you (as groupmember)
dont like what the leader does. Leave it.

I do see the stuff you did then... as especially harassing the
other players (thats because I am very Anti-AFK). But actually
you must have done more than you wrote.
Noone gets booted by a CSR just by giving away free mind buffs
in the cantina. Else all buffbots would be done with!

Exactly, I was going to point that part out but you beat me to it *high-five*

There has to be a lot more to the story here.
AFK BoTs constantly steal experience from leveling entertainers and unfortunately I am yet to hear of one actually getting booted out for it.
Unless you actually had the “misfortune” to run in to CSR who used brain instead of “copy-paste”, but I find that very unlikely.

So amuse us and spit it out, what really happened?

You're asking if what you did was wrong:

It's not wrong for you to feel upset about not being able to get into a group; every entertainer playing in a crowded cantina has experienced this when groups are near capacity. It's annoying and there is nothing wrong with feeling upset about a situation no one can control. I admit that I have been cranky enough about not being able to get into an entertainment group that I've just logged in disgust before.

However, I feel it is wrong for you to intentionally set yourself up to try to block patrons from getting past you in a cantina, and particularly to do it for the purpose of blocking other entertainers from getting experience! That's griefing in a nasty, dog-in-the-manger way, not "boycotting" by any stretch of the imagination.

It's also blatantly wrong to spam, every minute for - what was it, an hour? longer? -the same vulgar message about a group leader who didn't want you in the group or didn't have room in the group for you. I guess I missed the part of your post where you explained you were also doing that, sorry.

If you were being told you were a jerk, I'm going to go out on a limb here and suggest it might have been because of those two things. Did getting kicked off by a CSR make you feel vindicated or like you did the right thing?

You said you think you have a bias cast on you. I agree, though it's not because you're grinding for jedi or even because you run AFK macros.

It's because this isn't the first time you have announced you're going to block the entrance to the Theed cantina on Starsider because you can't get into a group for whatever reason (group full, people want to save space for novice entertainers, etc, innate mistrust of rodians, etc).

I hate to say this, but each time you announce "If you don't let me in the group right now I am going to block the cantina entrance with my nalargon and steal all of your exp," the number of "live" entertainers that will feel comfortable grouping with you will grow less and less. If you want to alienate your peers, I'm saddened by this; I'm sure there's a better way to deal with frustrations, right?

On a side note: I am probably just misunderstanding this, but you're telling us here that you're not an AFK bot and that you are not a musician for money or for giving buffs.

Yet I could have sworn I saw a post on the musician forum a few days back where you said the opposite, that you did AFK buffing and actually were AFK most of the time, and that you were upset over money because some poor guy didn't pay you for a buff as your macro requested. Maybe this wasn't you?

Ah, here it is:

P.S.: While we're correcting inaccuracies here, the group leader you were harassing was not a "he" - I wasn't the group leader, but I was in the group.

Never claimed to not be afk ever... lithium, get it right. Starsong kicked me cause I was afk that day? Yeah i was afk but I wasnt playing a damn instrument or getting xp, i stood for 8 hours doing nothing and yet I cant get an invite. Helll when 80 percent of her group is afk and she kicks me cause I am doing musician for jedi quest's. Heck I am dropping scouting to do master entertainer cause I enjoy it so much. I am debating on which to drop last later on, musician or fencer. I was afk the other morning cause I had a class to run to, I was gone a hour, oh and I went afk later on to grab some food. is that good enough for you lithium, or should I imagine you stop everything to eat for 10 min, not wanting to make it look like your afk. All I wanted to do was get some dancing xp and talk with my friend. I wouldnt of mind if I hadnt of been invited at all, but inviting me and kicking me and giving me a lame excuse. That's just crap. I dont mind voicing my opinion. It was a crummy thing to do and when she has mostly afk's in her group playing and macroing and I want an invite but dont get invited cause I was afk for 8 hours and not doing anything productive, it t's me off.

Setting up shop in the entrance for the express purpose of depriving the other Entertainers experience and interraction is griefing. That's probably why you were kicked. Or maybe it was the hate spam.

It's the group leader's perogative to boot whomever whenever they want. If you have concerns about being booted, I recommend discussing it with the group right after joining. This gives you the opportunity to join another group, if the first doesn't suit your goal for gameplay.

Looks like the group leader found a rock.

1. "I wouldnt of mind if I hadnt of been invited at all, but inviting me and kicking me and giving me a lame excuse"

Gee. Could it possibly be that because you've made a -habit- ofsetting up your nalargon in the cantina entrance and spamming that the group leader is a d**k every time you can't get into a full group immediately, people don't want to be in a group with you?

2. "I want an invite but dont get invited cause I was afk for 8 hours and not doing anything productive"

I was in the entertainer's group for a time that night as well. As I recall, at the time you asked, you didn't get invited because the group was -completely- full. Entertainer groups get that way in Theed. By the time any slots had opened up, you'd already set up your nalargon in the entrance to the cantina and started on your "Starsong is a d**k" spamming campaign. Clue = calling the group leader a d**k will -not- get you an invite into the group.

If you don't like it, start your own group! It's that easy. You'll probably make lots of friends with AFK buffbot entertainers, too, so they don't have to put up with roleplay snobs or ATK entertainers in their groups.

Sheesh. Happy gaming.

Please note that the word d**k is not duck. =)

Once again, I did not setup the nalargon until after she kicked me from teh group. I was in the group a whole minute at best. Then I started my protest and I blocked the entrance. I was invited and kicked. Wasnt because the group was full. If the group was full, I wouldnt of minded, hell I had intended to do dancing xp and talk with a friend. Instead I got invited, kicked for once again the dumbest reason in the world and so I blocked the entrance. People think I blocked the damn thing before hand... I didnt and that is why a lot of you dont get it.

I believe what you're saying. You have a history of being AFK, got invited to a group that supports live performers, got kicked (maybe because of your rep), then started griefing all the Entertainers.

Once again, the group leader has full authority to do whatever they want. They could invite everyone, get a nice full group, then pass leadership to an AFK and log, if they wanted to. If you have any concerns, check with the group leader before you join.
