Welcome to Sultrina's dance school.

Novice course:

So you just got your dancing shoes and are eager to try them out?

/startdance will bring up a list of dance styles at this point you have Basic and Rhythmic click one and you will start dancing.

Under the commands menu/other add the flourish 1-8 commands to your quick bar.

Now it's boogie time, have fun play with your flourishes!

TIP: Start making a dance card now, list all your flourishes and a brief description of what they do so you can find that special move for a special customer easily.

Intermidiate course:

Click on the bottom of your short cut bar and drag it down so you have two sets of bars.

Now make the following macros (if you don’t know how to this read the manual)

This macro gets you dancing basic fast.

/startdance basic;

This macro alows you to shift gears fast make one for each of your styles.

/changedance <dancestyle>;

Example:

/changedance rhythmic;

I can not emphasize this enough PLAY with your dancing and have fun with it there are tons of little goodies and secrets to discover and the more fun your having the more fun your customers will have.

Advanced course:

Now lets talk about /bandflourish

What does it do?

For a dancer it works like this: anyone currently dancing and using /bandflourish <1-8> will cause all dancers that are not already doing a flourish and do not have their /bandflouish off to do that flourish.

EXAMPLE: If all dancers are doing Basic and you do /bandflourish 7 all dancers will suddenly moonwalk in unison. If a dancer is doing another style they will still do flourish 7 but from that style.

How can I use it?

/bandflourish should only be used to enhance the show. With that in mind it’s a good idea to work with other dancers on putting together routines and not just start /bandflurishing them without warning. As with all dancing timing is the keys to making it look good. Any dancers who have not completed their last flourish will be left behind on a new flourish so you will have to watch all members of your troupe to time things corectly.

Can I turn it off?

Yes you can simply /bandflourish off. I recommend a macro for this comand because every time you stop dancing the flag will reset to on when you start again.

Professional dancing tips:

Flourish, chat and change outfits often. The first thing on your mind always should be how do I entertain these people?

Second thing on your mind is healing customers, why not the first?

1. Some customers aren’t there to be healed they are there to have fun.

2. No matter how good your healing skill customers heal over time so they deserve some entertainment

3. Flourishes boost your healing and your entertainment value.

Do look at your customers blue bar and see that it is going up (we cant see their fatigue) if it’s not patiently explain how the healing works

Last thing on your mind is your tips, XP and finding new clothes too wear. That’s right it is dead last, if your not doing the first two things on the list your not earning the goodies!

Never beg for tips, it's a good idea for one of the band members to have a macro instructing people on how to use the healing and how to tip though.

Should I macro my dance routines? No not really, I have one routine macroed so I can keep the boogie on if I’m bogged down in chat or a trade but that’s it

Here, here Sultrina! These are all great /tips. =)

Have you noticed that they threw in automatic /startdance *dance*icons in the Command window now? It's pretty handy. Still have to make /changedance *dance* macros though....Can't have it all I guess.

Especially the part about material gain being last. Come ON dancers...if you're really about power,xp,loot or whatever...you picked the WRONG job. You HAVE to derive almost all your fun from the actual minute-to-minute fun of the dancing/yapping part of the game or you're lost.

Ninja I'd appreciate not being told how to play the game and how to have fun in it. Try thinking before posting next time, because you obviously aren't smart enough to post intelligently.

I agree with Eljer. Ninja I don't think you should come around insulting people and telling them what to do, the forums are for constructive communication, not to continually harass other players.

Ok maybe Ninja could of worded things a little more friendly, but take note these are your customers and I can only imagine the type of entertainers Ninja has been exposed to by his reaction. I have seen entertainers treat their customers horribly and still expect tips. Speaking of tips I have one I left out of my guide.

TIP: Between talkingand system messages a cantina can get pretty noisy. I made a new tab on my chat bar just for system messages and drug it to the side of my spacial tab. I then turned off my system messages in my spacial tab (for how to do all this see manual). This gives me a much better chance ofnoticing a tip coming in and saying "thank you" it does still scroll by pretty fast so for anyone I missed along the way THANK YOU.

Ninja may lack in social graces, but what he said is valid. I've said it, others have said it -- if you want power and loot, don't be a dancer.

With that in mind it’s a good idea to work with other dancers on putting together routines and not just start /bandflurishing them without warning.

I'd like other dancers' confirmation on this -- it seems that whenever I'm in a group and we're not coordinated on /bandflo's, if one of us starts a /bandflo followed by someone else, it is MUCH more likely to make us fall. It's as if the dance animation gets confused and defaults to 'fall down go boom'.

Anyone else notice that?

In any event, I will not /bandflo with other dancers unless :

(1) We are coordinated - one of us designated to call the flourishes, not 2 or 3 of us at once

(2) Whoever is doing the /bandflo's understands that there are ONLY 2 flourishes for Exotic. Flo3 is just like 2, and 4-8 are re-runs of all the lower steps. Breaking into a shimmy or moonwalk in the middle of the slow, sultry Exotic is just plain goofy.

(3) Give us a cue in groupchat so we can time our special effects together - it makes the effect much more dazzling. Pun intended

(4) For gods sake, communicate with the other dancers if you're doing this. Nothing's worse than wondering what your toon is going to do next.
