Everyone in this forum seems to hate any form of afk nonsense, whilst i can feel ur pain as i have played many a rpg where macroeing has systematically killed the game i dont think this somehow fits into the catergory of exploitation as we already have the masters on her and are not looking for free xp just a dual Dance / Music macroe to use to help out guildys like other guilds have in there cantina. SO in saying this why is it so hard to get someone to send u an example of a dual macroe without being flamed to death, can anybody tell me this?, as it is our entertainer has been ready for over a week and im yet to find even ONE person to share there knowledge with me and as i spend a big % of my ingame time helping out guildys and stray noobs i cant see why ppl wont share, any input? ...i did ask gorby from NOR who has a afk musician but he told me to come here lol so im hopeing someoen can help me

It's "so hard," as you put it, because if someone played the character, and knew how to actually play the professions, you wouldn't need to ask. It would be a fairly simple logical exercise. It really isn't rocket science.

I'm sure you'll get them eventually. In the meantime, if you make an attempt to analyze how the profession works you can probably work one out pretty easily.

Did you even read what you wrote in the first line of your post ?
Most if not all of us that use these Profession forums relating to entertaining. Do it because we enjoy PLAYING these professions. Most of us feel very strongly about the affects that AFKing, and the ease in which our Professions can be afked from start to finish and after, has had on our professions.

So no none of us are going to help make yet another that can help damage us more. If a bot told you to come here and ask it was because they wanted to see you get flamed and get a good laugh out of it. But if you want to make a bot you'll have to get it from another bot or make your own.

Sorry if that's "closed minded". Or what ever...

And it's because of idiots like you I have alreadywatched friend after friend leave the game.

Echinaceais a kind and polite person, and she obviously found it in herself to respond kindly to your request and point you in the right direction for what you wanted. I, on the other hand, am rather grumpy at the moment and don't care if you're insulted by what any of us say. You obviously know the Entertainers' opinion on the subject you asked about, and yet you asked it anyway. Therefore, you are either an idiot (and don't know better than to post something like that) or you are a troll who is just looking to make Entertainers miserable. Either way, you don't belong here.

Oh, and yeah. This has been a perfect example of my close-mindedness. Trace my post history if you like. You'll find that 1 1/2 years ago I was actually posting somewhat to the benefit of the AFK'ers, telling myself that they really couldn't get all THAT bad. Well, I was wrong before. The AFK plague has only gotten worse since then and I fear that my shortsightedness at the time may have even helped contribute to their cause. Perhaps if only one more voice had cried out adamently against the LAMers then, we wouldn't have this problem now.

So don't go asking me about how to make a buffbot. You're not deserving of any masters title if you AFK'ed your way to it, and you're not worth my time either since you chose not to devote any time to these professions.

You make a character so you and your guildies don't have to associate with any of us, and you come to us for help with it, then you call us close minded for explaining why we're bothered by you're closed minded behavior? You've decided we don't matter, you've AFK'd your way so you don't need us, so why not just take the last step and leave us alone?

Go to the doc forum, ask them to help you make an afk doc buff bot. Go to the rifleman forum, ask them for a macro to master rifles afk. Go to the BH forum, ask them how to afk BH. Guess what, none of them will help you either. About the only place you'll find help afking a profession is the jedi forum.

Very sad.

It's attitudes like yours, spouting words like "close-mindedness" that make people who PLAY this game leave this game.

Don't get mad at us for not helping you make your PC NPC.

Are you so lazy as to not even put forth the effort to TRY making a macro? That's what pisses me off more than anything. Not that you don't even want to TRY to play your Dancer/Musician, but you can't even BOTHER to try writing a stupid macro that anyone giving 1/2 hour of thought could write.

It takes all of about 10 minutes of experimentation to understand how macros work.

I'm sorry, but if you can't even be bothered to look around for macro examples, AND you come in here right off the bat talking about how you know you're gonna get flamed, AND then act like an impatient 4 year old when the first person who replies to your thread doesn't thank you for the glorious addition your bot will add to this game, you GET NOTHING. So painfully sorry we won't allow your bot to steal customers and xp away from us, so sorry we won't give you a macro on a golden platter.

Good day to you. You add NOTHING to this game by your bot, except taking the fun out of the game for someone who PLAYS an Entertainer, not bots them. Thanks for helping to degrade and destroy the Entertainer professions as a viable and respected member of the SWG community.

Ya know what, I'm feeling helpful today. And generous. I will NOT give you a buffbot macro, but I WILL help you understand what a macro is. If you're going to ruin a profession, do it by your own actions, not by just copying some other punk who doesn't know what they're doing either. If you're going to hurt our professions, do it right.

I'll give you a very simple exercise to do, to learn how to write a macro. You will most likely find someone to hold your hand and push your stroller through creating a buffbot macro, so you may as well figure it out yourself.

No one should ever bother running a macro they don't understand.

PRESS CTRL and the letter A on your keyboard.

This is the Commands Interface.

Click on the Macros tab.

Click on New Macro.

Write a name in the top text box - whatever you like. How about NOOBmacro

Select an icon. Whatever tickles your fancy.

Now, in the big open space for a macro, try putting into this box a number of commands...the same ones in the CTRL+A window. Hover over any command, Start Music, Stand, Kneel, Stop Music, anything. Don't forget to look over the Combat and Other tabs.

Upon hovering your cursor over a command, you'll see a / command.

For example, hover over Start Music and you'll see /startmusic. /startmusic is the command for your macro.

Anything you put in the macro should be on it's own line for ease of reading. Anything you put in the macro should be able to be typed in the Chat box and executed without problems on it's own.

Put the following in your macro box:

/startmusic starwars1

/flourish 1

/say I am a buffbot, hear me roar.

/qui

/stopmusic

/qui

/pause 1

/macro NOOBmacro

Give that a shot and let me know how it goes.

Your afk buffbot takes business away from ATK entertainers. If you want to play the game we will help you. If you try to grief us, we will not help you. Also, this thread is remarkably flame-free. You obviously have a low threshhold for flamage.
