Thread: Wound Healing
Well, the simplest answer I can give you is, to get the dances, to get the title. You're 100% right, we heal fast enough as it is, and that's a lot of skill points to blow. So it's really up to the individual; what's more important to you, saving your points or getting Master Dancer?
Think of it this way though, the same thing goes for several other professions. Take Creature Handlers. At Novice CH you can own any pet that can be tamed. For a small amount of points, you can walk around with a rancor. For a ton of points, yu can tame your own. Is it the ownership of the creature that's important, or the ability to get one? It's something only the player can decide.
Sorry, we petitioned for that, but got aggro'd by the medics. =)
Seriously, entertainers can heal mind wounds in a camp or entertainment venue (hotel/cantina/player home), and BF in a venue (doesn't get healed in camps). I've heard some vague rumor that higher-level camps may allow BF healing, but don't quote me on that. For health/strength/constitution and action/quickness/stamina wounds, go to the med center. Don't forget to tip your medics, I've found they often like resources better than cash.
Soon there may be player-built buildings that allow both mind healing and physical wound healing for one-stop recuperation.
I'm a little new so please forgive me for these simple questions.
I've played my instrument in a cantina and I have had my music skill go up. However, my wound healing skill (the skill line at the far right of the entertainer skill tree) has yet to even budge. How do I raise this skill line?
Another question.. How does battle fatigue heal? I played a marksman before this entertainer character and I sat in a cantina for about 20 minutes watching a someone play their music (I tipped them 500 credits.. is that average?) .. The problem, though, is my battle fatigue didn't go down at all.. How do I help those who are watching me heal this?
Last question.. I took up an entertainer mission. I went into the building by the waypoint and started to play my instrument.. I did this for about 10 minutes but nothing happend. How long do you usually have to play to complete a mission?
I must say this is a fun profession so far. Even with the ability to only play one song.

Welcome to the community.
The other comments are sound and valid, soI won't repeat them. I'll mention one thing, though. Your BF should have healed in a cantina. If not, this is a bug or a mistake.
I'm going to assume it's a mistake. Did you actually target a dancer and /watch her? Sometimes for me, I need to do more than /watch. I sometimes need to bring up the radial menu and choose watch. Same thing for listen.
I can tell when someone not used to the game comes in (when there are only the two of us, that is). If I cannot see his mind wounds recover, I'll remind him to watch me. He'll say that he is. Yet, I am not getting the exp, which means he is not benefiting. I'll point out that he needs to watch me via game interface and not just have me on the screen (though that would be easier healing).
As for ent heal xp, make sure you're always in a group too. If you're in a group of 5 performers and one of them is being watched, then you gain xp too. Some people go to Theed just for the chance of getting a lot of experience.

Welcome to the profession!
You have to actually heal a wounded person first. This happens when someone with BF or mind wounds /watches or /listens to you. My guess is that no one was /listening while you were playing. You will see it when it happens. The game says, "You get 34 experience in Entertainment healing." etc.

Hmm.. Very odd. It should go down if you are watching or listening to a performer. I healed a guy of 474 BF in about 20 minutes the other day. Of course my dancer has lots of ent heal. skill so she is faster but even a novice should make it go down a little in 20 minutes.
500 is a nice tip. I usually get around 100-500, depending. Some really generous people tip 1000 or more. Depends on what was done for you (lots vs little BF) and also on how much you have in your pocket.

If the waypoint is outside the building don't do it there. Go inside the building and perform there. For instance, if the WP is at the entrance of a hotel, go in and dance on the little side stage they have in there. That's where I dance to get rewarded. Admittedly I have only done this twice (the payout is not worth it).

On healing: the person needing healing (mind wounds or BF) needs to target an entertainer and select listen or watch on the radial dial (listen for musicians, watch for dancers) just looking at them won't get the healing done.
On gaining experience in entertainment healing: In order to gain experience someone with wounds or battle fatigue must be actively listening/watchingyou or your group.
On Tips: your 500 credit tip wasfairly generous, average tips seem to be around 100 credits but can range from nothing to several thousand (I think my highest tip to date was 8k but that was well above average and very generous). Every tip is appreciated, and I consider tips a bonus not a given.
On Missions: I believe with the new mission system you need to be performing for 15 minutes though there are conflicting reports and I have not actually done a gig mission since the new terminals were put in.
Point of the story is this, if I'm in a hurry and have massive wounds I'll seek out a doc. Not all of them have wound packs anymore which is saddening, but those that do are amazing. If not I'll find me someone who needs medic skills or just do the deed myself.
