Thread: Friend?

Could someone please explain what the following Droid Program commands are used for?
Befriend
Transfer
Using them with my harvester R3 doesn't seem to do anything.

befriend tells the droid to obey the commands of whomever you have targeted when you speak the command
transfer gives the droid to the person you have targeted when you speak the command

befriend for droids means the same thing it does for creature pets. if you make another player the droid's friend, the droid will respond to that persons commands.

Befriend is like putting someone on the admin list of a house.
You get your droid out, you select someone, you type the command, he has control of the droid +/- like you do.
Some restriction : Detonatedroid and harvest command don't seem to work when it's the 'friend' that is using it.
Make sence, you can't destroy a structure when you're an admin I think.
Transfert is like transfert a structure.
You don't own the droid anymore, the person to wich you transfered it now own the droid, and can do whatever he want with it, and you don't have control on the droid anymore.

not tried it in over a year but im sure when tried it with mate nothing happend, commands like follow etc

I think I've read somewhere that there is a bug about this.
If you befriend a droid to someone, follow and other command do work as long as they use original command and not the one you programmed.
Meaning, if you programmed the order f to follow, when you say f, the droid will follow you, when your friend say f,nothing will happen, but if he does say follow, the droid will follow him.

must admit think i tried this with first ever droid i got when i started game which was a medical unit, it never seemed to work, my guess was command was to allow another person to use feature such as crafting station in a droid but not control it, but since you can use any droids crafting ability if you near it friend or not that cant be true. anyone know this one.

Befriend does work, it can be buggy though. When we have people grinding squad leader, we group up, call all our pets then befriend then to one guy to manage.
I have an awesome pic somewhere with me being Beastmaster. Had 10 htings total, Grauls, Droids, Rancors, Kiwis all following me around. Of course everybodies commands were different, so controlling them as a pain.
Wish I had tried the default commands like Gavoot just said, may have made life much easier.

I saw someone running around Mos Eisley with about 20 helper droids following him around. Did he db a bunch of people to get those??
Anyway, thanks for the info on the Befriend and Transfer commands.
If befriend permanent? Can you un-befriend in case your buddy usurps his authority?
