Thread: why dont the devs let droids engineers make battle droids?

Or how about just be creative and they make up a kind of battle droid in stead of bringing an r2 unit and what should be a probe droid into battle.

The Devs are concerned about giving the equivilent of an AT-ST to a low level player without them having to invest at least some degree of skill comparable to the combat multiplyer granted by the droid.

Yea the Developers have said that they don't want Droids to outperform non CH pets, back near launch we had Probots with medium armor,a ton of HAM, and they hit real hard too, those got nerfed pretty quickly...

It's a very long story. It has to do with checkers and if we should call people "handlers" or "commanders".
Don't worry though, after JtLS, the combat revamp/rebalance, smuggler love and several other fixes we might see a Droid Handler/Commander profession.

Maybe it would be cool if battle droids could only be used by master squad leaders. It would give sl a use finally.

This issue has been around for awhile now and should be dealt with in a much more timely fashion. To the DEV's .... PLEASE do something about introducing a much better combat droid then the ADV R3.... I always get "The R3 is the best??? I want a drodika!"

Well Im not a DE but was scrolling about forum for info on cybernetics but if any of you have been to the DWB there is a droid there called a battolemech its basicly a R3 (or R2) with its dome ripped off and a turret there instead just thinking maby devs should allow DEs too make this and it will be like the probbot (with one combat moduel in it automaticly) but have room for 6 combat moduels this wont be that much more powerfull then a R3 with 6 combat modules but would look cooler and give DEs a true combat droid or maby just leave it like the probot but with stun dmg

That is one of the droids that was going to be availabe to the Droid Commander profession that has yet to be added. All of the combat droids that we see in game were also part of the DC profession. After JTL, the Combat Revamp/Balance, and the GCW Revamp we may see the DC profession resurrected and new combat droids added, along with some other droid chassis, but this is all a MAYBE.
