Thread: The FINAL nail in the coffin: Doomsday approaches...
It is on test center right now. Then end is real close now:
Item decay both on Incap and on Death. Unless you spend a lot of money toinsure your items (even your resources), theywill decay 20% of their condition upon Death and 3% (I think) on Incap.
Here are the two treads that fortell Doomsday:

In a few weeks it should be real fun to try to run out to harvestors only to wind up in an aggro mob spawn.
The Devs want to create a money sink. This may sink the game.
More money to insurance = less money to spend on things like droids.
What will this mean for DEs? One more nail in the coffin.

I dont mean to suggest exclusively that money going to insurance will sink us but if we have to insure items to travel to survey resources or go on harvestor runs or even to run to our houses or factories, if we die to or from these places with items we have made or resources we have just collected (cause you cant insure those items since you arent in town), think about what that does to the price of the droids we do build.
The price of droids and our resources go up while the amount of money people have to spend on droids go down. I have a bad feeling about this...

Yeah since they are stored in the datapad and not in the inventory... Glad I left DE months ago... They do like to nerf you guys do they... Donno why they keep going at it... Make droids more wanted they said...
if they are stupid enough to do this, I quit. I am already forcing myself to put up with this game, hoping that it will improve in the future. If they truely are this idiotic, then I know there is no hope.

regarding providing more money for crafters, this has been discussed at length, and the bottom line is - no, it won't. It will cost you dearly.
A. MANY of the people who have hung on to this point (myself included) will become so disgusted with the continual crap that they push to live with no player input or testing are going to quit.
B. Those that somehow can tolerate this garbage and struggle on,will buy less. More insurance costs = less money to buy items - but thats only the minor point. The main issue is that if I know that my full suit of composite will decay in 5 deaths, guess what, to heck with it. I just won't bother with armor at all. Clothes? same. People are not going to run missions 4 days out of 5 just so they can have enough cash to play on the 5th day. "Buy insurance" Vass says. Hmm... last time I died (this morning) my insure all cost came to a nice sum of 32,000+. Does NO ONE on the entire Dev team see a problem here???
How many ways can I say this? This game has become a FULLTIME JOB and becomes more so with every patch.
I waited for this game for 3+ years and have been a diehard fan, but I can't put up with this any longer. I'm sorry. I've tried my best. But there is no fun here, and I'm not going to frustrate myself on a stupid game. To those that can take it, more power to you, but I sincerely hope that you do not put up with complete BS from a team who obviously does not care about it's player base. GL to you all.

Get your info straight before you post. Resources, medical supplies... basically anything that does not have a "condition" atrribute does not deteriorate. I support item decay 100 percent.. although the decay rate is a bit steep in my opinion. Im sure they will put it to less.
I see this as an upside for DE's for quite a few reasons:
1. Increase in storage droids as people can keep stuff here and it won't decay
2. Increase in probot sales as something to take the beating for people
3. increase in storage droid sales again because people won't want to get DB'd to go overt to trade (just have a storage droid you transfer back and forth)
4. Increase in medical droid sales as you see more people going for medic and doctor profession (there will be lots of business for doctors that can rez).
5. Good thing for the game in general as right now there is no detriment to dieing... its kind of stupid when you just "take the short trip back" when you are away from a town.
These are just my thoughts on the matter, all I can say is don't die, its really not that hard. For the few times you do, make sure your stuff is insurred.

As soon as the devs realize that people use ITEM-STORAGE droids to circumvent the insurance-cost we WILL be nerfed once more.
They (The devs) haven't thought of this I am sure and will get panic-strucken as soon as they figure it out and smack that storage-module so hard with their bat so it never works properly ever again.
Just look what they did to the Data-module.
