Thread: im new to DE, what are good prices to charge?
does anyone have a general price listing?
i have no clue as to what i need to charge, i dont want to undercut anyone.
thanks
Well, since you can't even make droids right now you don't have to charge...
Seriously I could use one of these myself.
There's a spreadsheet online somewhere that someone developed.
Foolishly, I went and made my own before I knew of the other.
I take into account three factors: Resource cost, assembly risk, and profit.
Your resources cost you a certain amount, you critical fail a certain percentage of the time, and on top of it all, you might want to make a profit so you can buy a ship or something someday.
Basically, I figure the cost of any item as ((resources * RESOURCE_COST) ( + RARITY_COST ) + subcomponents) * PROFIT_MARGIN
Where each subcomponent is calculated the same way, recursively.
I generally do a straaight 5cr/unit, unless it calls for a specific type of component, in which case its 8cr/unit for that particular thing. If I need a component from another craft (ie composite panels, powercore, ect) its 15% additionalto mycost for that component. And then I will raise it to get it to a round 250/500/750/1000 to make it easier to remember. If someone has a problem with my pricing, I let them know that there are other DE's available.
Of course, I am not a DE to make money, but to give some diversity to my group of friends that dragged me kicking and screaming into this game.
