Thread: Sub Components and Experimentation ...

Not sure if this was pure coincidence but was wondering if anyone else has noticed this.

One of my guildies reported that his droid was slow ... travelling on flat ground .. but using similar droids myself they seem to be working fine .. in fact the latest I noticed to be pretty fast even up hill.

Now I know that last droid was made with at least 85% Effectiveness on the Motive System. So was wondering if the better effective a motive system is the faster the droid can move ?

So, if that works out then perhaps a similarly experimented Sensor System would improve accuracy in combat or simply targetting something.

I think during my 3 week holiday over xmas I will see about testing this out on different sub components that seem to have a specific functionality.

Also, maybe decay resistance relates to how long before it runs low on power ? Or would that be just how well a droid battery is ?

Would be good if these do seem to make a difference .. it would then make quality matter at this stage even if not at the final crafting stage.

Chassis subcomponents have no impact on the completed chassis.

It really is ashame that SOE won't give details about this stuff. Everybody says it doesn't matter, and it may not, but in a game like this the only way to tell for sure is test, test, test. The devs that write the code know for sure and sometimes I feel they sit back and laugh at all the little things we bring up, test, and talk about. What if it did matter... motives=speed, sensor packs=accuracy or audible range of commands, brains=accuracy or rememberance of commands (giving a follow command then after a few minutes having to repeat it to get the droid to begin following again),frame units=slighty better defense, ect. ect. ect. This would matter a great deal on our droids. We know how far off the info on patches can be, what if they added this in and never mentioned it? They won't even say if the armor bug is wrong on the deed or after called the second time.

And this is the mantra we stick by until we are told otherwise. Or have some concrete evidence to the contrary.

Believe me, I really wish experimenting was effective in subcomponents.
