Thread: Thinking of going DE please advise

I'm making my alt a crafter and I was wondering which profession I should choose. I used to be WS at release and I think I'll go with that or AS. I know that there isn't many DE at least on Bria. Why is that? Is there no money in that profession or it's so borked that noone wants to play it?

A little of both. The DE profession has never been the money-maker like AS or WS, because we don't exclusively cater to the combat professions, which make up the majority of the players. And it's got it's fair share of bugs and broken functions.
That being said, it truly is a labor of love for those die-hard DE's. We know it's not a profitable profession, but it's just fun to create droids. There's lot of combinations you can make, and it's rewarding to finish off a custom order for a client and have them happy with the product. And having fun is what playing this game is all about.

There is a bit of that - most DE's you will find do it for the love rather than the money - you'll never get mega rich on DE but that said you make enough and once you get to a certain level of money, why you need more?!
Droid modules and the way they are made has changed a lot - been dummed down a lot in terms of resources as for the vast majority of droid components the quality does not matter any more, least not for now but that may all change again when we get somedev lovin....

Actually, Bria is one of the more (if not most) populated DE servers. Check out the shop list.

I love DE, its fun..and if you are lonely, its easy to make new friends...even if nobody is online. its kinda like being a CH and a BE....but without the strength...and not the same amount of called pets...wait..nevermind, its not like MCH/MBE.

Please, for the love of Droids, CHARGE for your Droids. Don't be bashful about charging 100K+ for Probot Combat Droids and 20K for crates of 5 Seekers, for example.
I'm seeing many DEs charge 1000 credits for crates of 25 Seekers. I'd like very much to /ring those DEs virtual necks.
