Thread: Advice sought.. Possible career change
Well assuming you have enough excess XP for Shipwright you could easily try out the first few squares of droid engineer and then slowly tweak the boxes over until youre at a comfortable place in the DE empire. If you dont like it you can always train up the excess points you gained unless it gets to the point it wipes them out totally.

Thank you, I still have a respec on this toon. I know that for Mando, the only way to get the full color spectrum is to be a AS/DE. Thought this could be handy.
Thats not exactly correct.
The Helmet color pallet is based on the Customization mods of a Droid Engineer. You will gain the full color pallete on all AS crafted items, but you will not get the full pallete on the Helmet, since DEs only have +64 at Master, compared to the +255 as a AS Master. The two are not interchangable.
The only way to increase the color pallete on the Helmet is to gather Droid Customization Skill tapes, which are supposedly capped at +25, for a total of +89, which will net you an additional 10 dull colors.

I thought the cap was +20 for any skill tape.

Actual cap is +25. You can see this with a humanMaster Artisan, since they can have a total of 14 Experimentation points. +115 Experimentation as a human Master Artisan, with +25 Artisan Experimentation will give you 14 Experimentation points.
