Thread: Is there any way for a rising DE to make money before master?

I've tried and tried and i've had marginal success with selling seeker droids. But i simply cant find a way to make any real amount of money by selling my wares. Is there anything to sell thats profitable before master DE, or even at master DE? I rarely see people with droids.

A couple big ways...
First, Medical Droids. Once you get Medical IV I believe, you can put two together to get the full 110% medical capability. Tout it, let people know what it is and what it can do.
Crafting stations are good too. Alot of people don't realize you can put one in, even if you do not know the %s it gives.
Lastly, a big potential, Item. I have not checked, but I wonder if stuff in droid item slots are hit on death....if not this could be a huge win.

Item storage droids are HUGE, booming business for me right now, in fact I've run out of my crated crafting/storage R2s and have begun running subcomponents for a new batch literally a week ahead of when I expected to.

Items stored in droids DO NOT DECAY on death. Let me make that perfectly clear to everyone, Items stored in droids DO NOT DECAY on death. Sell this to people, I always tell folks to keep a good gun and some armor on a droid.

I sell Medical Droids (R-units and Surgical Droids), Probots (of course), and crafting droids (anything with a crafting station). And BH droids. I'm 3-3-1-4. Occasionally I'll get an oddball order (three Sugical Droid Chassis for a player-city medical center, for example). I make a fair amount of money (enough to keep me solvent, and then some).

at NOVICE DE I could sell about 3 mouse droids a night on the bazzar for 1k each. If you travel to more cities you could probably make like 10k a night or more. I sold storage and medical. Now i feel bad though i realized the storage ones held 1 item lol.

Make sure to NAME it with what kind it is in the name, people buy them then.

Started a post on this very subject yesterday.

One quick question to steer this post off course though: How long before the inventory decay thing is decided a bug and everyone on here will insist that no DEs sell them to anyone?

Ackis had the idea a while back of selling 85% (med 4) units in MSE droids. I've been doing this for a while after his suggestion for 750, might get 800 out of them. Oddly enough, being cheap little droids makes them appealing to buyers, they tend to go from the bazaar pretty quickly. also, since they don't take much to make, they are somewhat simple to make via factory.

Another is batteries. Super easy to run in a factory, super easy to sell on the bazaar. Not the biggest profit margin, but they sell like the dickens. lol

Ok, one thing you can do is sell DZ-70s - push them as a one-use 100%PSG. They'll absorb one mob attack that was meant for you. Not a big deal to combat types, but to Novice Artisans out checking the harvesters, it means a chance to hit BurstRun when the bocatts show up.

Get in tight with a MDE and get them to make some schematics for you of higher-level modules, then arrange to borrow time on someone's factory and run a couple crates of them. Now you can make low-end droids with some better features. In my case, the local MDE wanted to do other things with his time , and was tired of making DZ70s and R4s, so he sub-contracted them to me.

Make Adv Droid Chassis and put them on the vendors in the new player cities - lots of folks like having them in the house as decor.

In my case (only a Novice DE on Kauri), I've noticed that people regularly purchase the MSE-6 droids with a Level 1 Medical (that's all I can build). I put them on the Market for 500, and people keep buying them. Probably low level newbies are buying them mostly. I don't actually know.

Though I'm not trying to make a significant profit. And the market interface is a little klunky so I avoid it sometimes.

On that side note: the market interface needs the ability to destroy failed sales in the available items list without requiring you to take a ship to the planet and retrieve it first! (that's why its klunky, IMO).
