Okay, since the thread hasn't started yet we may as well practice. Gather the best ideas you guys canand present them on this thread. The ideas we like can later be pasted into THs thread whenever it starts.

Chassis:

The Advanced BLL has 1k HAM, 2 or 3 armor slots but no module slots or attacking ability (the regular verrsion has the same problem with less armor slots).

Regular Protocal Droids have no module slots.

The Power Droid and Humanoid Droids cannot be named.

The Repair Droid and Power Droid cannot repair even if they have repair modules.

Power Droids should not require batteries.

Surgical Droids should get a bonus to healing or thier own built in medical module.

Repair Droids should have a built in repair module.

Treadwell Droids (just about the least seen, it's the one with lotsa arms) should be able to heal white damage on droids (just to give the poor fellow a job).

Certain droids shouldn't be allowed to have certain modules (like why would a Treadwell be able to heal you better then a hospital for example).

Combat droids should receive thier own chassis (at least for most types).

Combat:

Do not make us into a robotic CH class. The DE community has been tearing itself to shreds over having them at all. Some want them, some don't. The best idea we've come up with is a certification system which I am lacking a link to (someone grab it for me please?)

Do not overpower the combat droids. Being slightly too weak and getting a boost later is far easier to explain then nerfing something that has been in the dark for 7 months plus beta.

Modules:

Cantina module.

Vehicle repair module.

Factory modules (capped at a single crate of anything and only allowed in big droids).

Survey modules (either help you sample at about 1 or 2 BERor increase your survey range or will auto-find a selected resources highest concentration within a certain range).

Stim module to heal players (probably on Surgical Droid).

Misc:

These currently only change the way you give a droid orders, why not make droids say random things so everyone can hear them?

Droid engineers have a far higher dependance upon other classes in order to just make our products then any other crafting class I know of.

Increase battery duration.

I know there is more and I'll post them as I remember them.

Misc:

Droids use the standard name filter, allow numbering and such. Also maybe allow words like Imperial so people can name them after thier businesses (like Imperial Industries).

Misc:

Expirementation andresource qualityis for the most part worthless.

I *think* all DEs got the same colors to choose from regardless of thier customization skill.

(Between these two problems the third lin of the DE tree does nothing at all.)

and find some use for the binary load lifter. it is the hardest, and the most expensive to make-but serves no function. i made one and nemed it expensiveuselessbot just for the sakes of crafting one. Also make the sub parts(adv droid motive, droid brain, etc) to where the quality of those parts factor into the overall quality of the droid..... And also i gave a member of my guild who was grinding BH some seekers and araks(low quality). She said it sometimes takes the arak 5 minutes to report back on the target, so i was like ok lme make some new high quality ones. I gave her some 94% crafted araks and figured we see faster results on the arak, but we didnt

Sigh.....

Might the fact that this thread is sinking be due to the fact that it doesn't list any of the topics which were announced In Development???

THAT'S what the discussion with/to the devs will be about.

The first section of your post lists commonly known issues which have already been compiled into the Known Issues List.

The second section of your post gives your opinion and then states "The best idea WE'VE come up with..." - inYOUR opinion, not EVERYONES opinion. Blah!

The third section of your post gives some very good ideas for modules. They've just been posted several times before. Nothing wrong with that I guess.

The forth section of your post lists a few more issues with the profession that have been discussed and already compiled.

But I DO like your idea of droid chatter. There are only a few droids that actually 'say' anything when a player pulls them out or runs around with them - the Power Droid being the most noticable.

Yousee NPC droids running around town chirping and whirring and beeping, but when YOU call them out, they are mysteriously silent.

Very peculiar.

Perhaps this has been mentioned before, but I don't remember seeing it in the issues list last time I read through it.

Good idea!

"When Sony and Lucas set out, we said, How can we do this and not make another EQ? We didn't want it to be all about Luke, or combat, or lock our players into a class. So we created a system that would allow players to switch professions during the game, and there would be a lot of gameplay around making that change. If you want to go from architect to scout we've created a system to make that happen."

Firstly, the bugs need fixing you gotta admit. I would really like to see the bugs fixed as much as I'd like to see new conent.

Also the ideas section is open to everyone and I want more ideas on it. I was simply starting it out with what I could remember of popular and semi-popular ideas. My point was that we could find a few things that maybe that everyone can agree on thatcould maybebe added as well for the non-combat droid crafters at some point in the future.

As for the chatter, it's been on the forums recently and not strictly my idea though I wish it were.

Ack, no edit button. The second area, the first point there seems to be the general will of the DE community, most posts I read have wanted us to be useful regardless of combat droids. That was sorta my point there. The second bit is some opinion as well as some GM wisdom from games long dust. Basically if they start out too good people will be happy to start and get angry when the nerf hits, if they start too weak then the community is still happy cause the items are new and when the boost comes there is almost never a complaint.

Too true.

Although I'd rather they perform a good balancing run on implementation, I know it's hard sometimes for all possible interactions to be taken into account until things start being pounded by 1000's of users.

But the ID focus threads will ONLY cover what was announced in the ID Dev Cycle section - combat modules (blah), combat droids and related topics.

Hopefully they'll make another pass real soon for additional DE content.

This ID announcement didn't even include as many topics as The Official DE Plan which was introduced months ago, commented on, but never even acted on.

Basically they're collecting the SAME info AGAIN.

But at least this time it's more focused on just one sunject - combat.

I just wonder how long we'll have to wait on anything besides this.

And yes, they stated that bug issues 'could' be worked on in tandem with new content.
And even that many/most of the issues were already in development.
Of course, ALOT of things have been said in the past.......

I can confirm this is false: during the crafting process I only have 6 awful colors to choose

Using the customization kit yes, I can choose any color (as I stated in other post I think this should not be considered a bug... but just my opinion )
