Thread: Correcting the Imbalance: Droid Power-Ups
An Observation:
If Combat-capable Droids are now directly comparable to unbuffed CL10 critters, then the only imbalance left between the two is the buffability of critters.
Has anyone considered the possibility of Droid Power-Ups? Expendible items, like Weapon Power-Ups, that will temporarily enhance some aspect of Droid Combat? For example:
Ablative Armor Pack - a one-use armor pack that will absorb a certain amount of damage before it is destroyed. Alternatively, one could mount an Armorsmith-crafted Shield Generator in the droid. (Ablative Armor could absorb any attack, while Shield Generators are only good against Energy attacks.)
Hunter/Killer Module - a limited-use module that greatly increases ranged weapon accuracy, effectiveness, and/or range.
Anyway, you get the idea.Thoughts?

Respectfully,
Alacrity this is an interesting idea...indeed it is ![]()
One thing to take care on, if I might suggest it: Remember a BE pet buff is over TIME so we should be very careful asking, for example, for Ablative Armour that only takes a specific amount of DAMAGE
Time and damage are two different things entirely, and time is certainly superior, all other things being equal.
Now, if such a powerup were to restore the AR2 armour rating, hehe, that would be a whole different thing.
Good luck with this constructive idea.
Instead of making shield generators energy only (PSG's arent). Perhaps they would grant the droid a light armor rating for a brief time.
Turboboost to increase droid movement speed
Nanites to increase HAM
Of course, using 'powerups' would take a tick off vitality.
