Thread: Question for the TC DE's

My lowbie scout on Test just doesn't have the DE skills, so I'm hoping you guys could help with this question.

A lot of effort has been put into determining max HAM, combat ratings, damage, etc for the various chassis we already have. Well, I'd like to know the opposite. What are the HAM's for our droids with *no* combat modules used whatsoever?

My reason: I need to know for certain if the droids I have on my vendors are going to be made "obsolete" when patch day comes (45 HAM LE vs base 300 HAM LE, etc...). Anyone able to check the chassis without loading any combat modules at all?

Combat modules don't effect HAM at all, so yes, the droids on you're vendor won't have as much HAM. But, since they couldn't attack anyway without the combat modules, don't think the HAM really matters that much.

Apply the question to the Probot, then.

What's a new "base" Probot look like? Will Audio's 42986724967-droid run of Probots be totally useless because all of the new ones have more HAM and better attack, or will 820 HAM, 2.4 attack speed, and 70-80 damage be sellable after the patch?

Also, what happens if you use a pre-patch Advanced Probot Chassis to make a post-patch Droid? I hadn't quite gotten as far as Audio and so was able to stop prior to actually constructing the Droids, but will my run of Advanced Probot Chassis be any good?

as far as I can tell anyone with pre-patch probots is screwed, unless they've got some utility modules (even then not great, but could be worse). Also, I didn't have a chance to make any pre-patch chassis but from what I hear and from past results old chassis still make new droids, so you're good on chassis.

Specifically, how do you define screwed? Can you give me an example please?

v. screwed, screw·ing, screws v. tr.

  1. To drive or tighten (a screw).

  2. To fasten, tighten, or attach by or as if by means of a screw.

  3. To attach (a tapped or threaded fitting or cap) by twisting into place.

  4. o rotate (a part) on a threaded axis. To contort (one's face).

  5. Slang. To take advantage of; cheat: screwed me out of the most lucrative sales territory.

  6. Vulgar Slang. To have sexual intercourse with.

    I'll take #5, Bob.

Apparently, pre-patch Probots will have their armor nerfed to AR0, with a max of 20% resists.

I really think this might be the last straw for me.

I'm just worried about all the bad feeling this is going to cause in previously happy customers. This is like a major product recall thing, its either going to really annoy a lot of people, or it's going to cost us big money.

I just don't like the prospect of saying 'too bad' to my past customers..it smells a bit, dont you think?

It needs to be remembered that the vast majority of players have no idea whatever this is coming their way.

/sigh I am really not looking forward to patch day if this goes in.

I dont like this prospect either, but that is exactly what I am gonna do, and double my prices for the new probots. I have to work twice as hard to make these new guys and I am gonna charge accordingly. As far as past customers, I can only remember a few who have bought any quantity of probots, and I will take care of them, but as far as I am concerned most of the probots I have sold should have worn out by now and need to be replaced. If SOE had placed the creators name on the probot window I might have implemted a trade in policy and trashed the old ones, but I dont know who made the probot sombody is trying to trade in to me. I did not make these changes (but I did vote no to DH, Hmmm) so I dont feel responsible for the inconveince. My 2 cents worth.
