Thread: Anybody have fun with the lower models after Master?

I know that the R3 is the end all be all of the best we can make, but does anyone have fun making little versions of the lower doids for fun and effect?
I like making WED treadwells for various fun themed functions (110 med rating/ food/chem crafting = "Sawbones")
DZ droids with Scout trap modules and another random assist modules = floating scout assist platform
MSE with merchant modules (the "Merchant's Foot in the door")
Half the fun for me of making droids is naming them on themes 
I also loved doing this with food...our damage reduction food is called "Not in the Face!" biscuts and our accuracy rolls are "Stay on Target!" taquitos.

I use a Treadwell for Structure 3 Maintenance and Storage.....

I craft Black Protocol Droids with Red Eyes and maximum number of detonation modules named "Assassin". Completely useless but a nice look !
I craft humanoid chassis (as pink coloured as possible) with entertainer modules and name them "Love Slave". (Also with deto modules for a combined function :-)
I craft BLL named "Two seater AT Walker". On display they have two metal seats on their loader platforms and some bits and pieces like vid screens etc.
I craft mouse droids with Med 110 and max storage named "Doctor Bag".

I sometimes craft a Surgical droid with a storage module, usually level 6, and call it
STILL FCKN BROKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I build MSE, Treadwell, R4, sometimes R5, when the people don't need that much modules, and don't have that much money.
Allow me to have a full range of price, from cheap to expensive for a good adv R3.
I don't wanna end up like the AS that only do compo.

Totlich again here....(i think my account ran out, i cant post under my real name)
90% of my stuff is custom orders... so I build what the customer whants. I have done a BLL with med and storage and a crafting station for a doc called "NO buffs for you" he ended up nameing it that. We have a guy in town that has made a police station and a hotel/casino. I have maded droids for this as well named "front desk".
I love doing small stuff... and custom orders are great, except most people dont want to wait for suff. I havent been MDE very long and am finding now what people want most of. Plan on stocking the vendor soon, MSE storage droids have been a hot seller.... they are going out the door by the crate.

I still build MSEs and Treadwells for the newbier of my clientele. Though...personally, I really LIKE the Treadwells, and I use one myself for structural maintenance.
Hell, I used an MSE as my crafting droid as a Master for months before I finally broke down and made myself an all-encompassing R2 ADV.

Made 30+ R5's by hand yesterday out of old parts from previous runs. Good ole days before factory runs mwhaha

I make MSE droids, each with a different crafting station, and call them "Portable <Blank> crafting stations". They sell well.
Ive also been thinking of introducing a line of newbee droids but I havent gotten around to it yet.
I sell the MSEs for 10k each.

Im really partial to the DZ so if I can make it I suggest it. (1000 OQ on the steel helps, they have a higher HAM than my Probots) I do like the treadwell as well and dropping the deeds around structures always gives me a smile, but they just dont have the speed for a good functionality. BLL's as barkers are my personal favourite right now.
I usually put DZ's and MSE's on the bazaar. For some reason my server, my home planet theres rarely a droid on there, so I put up MSE med droids or DZ combat droids every once in awhile. They are like limited business cards!
(I like the "Sawbones" name, I'm using "Suture" but I like yours better ~ "YOINK")

Doesn't sell very well in the shop, but goes in a couple of hour max on the bazaar.

I use Advanced MSE droids for 10 item storage and call them the Packrat's Edition.
I made my merchant alt a Treadwell with a Barker module in it, it roams the hallways of Coronet Starport at just the right pace, and gets a lot of people stopping to look at it. I might just make a run of these fellas...
I make regular R2's (not advanced) with 110 med rating, and call it "Buffing Doctor's Edition" and sell em pretty cheap.

My first portabe crafting Station was also an MSE I called LittleCrafter, now I use a BLL with 10 Iteam Storage called BigCrafter "I think", My barker is a PowerDroid. And my Alt uses an Auto-repair LE with a Sarcasic Personality Chip, its a kick when they talk and fight at the same time, Just need to fix the Naming of them. I also made a Treadwell Stroage Crafter for my guilds taylor because she wanted a Funky Droid. I like the Idea of the Newbe Droid line I think I'll work on that when I start Crafting again. I usually use Plain Descriptive names for my Droids like "Combate Tank R3 4477 HAM CR 100(i know it should be lower but I have abunch of these instock) and ARP XXX(not shure what its at right now)" though I do Have "Exploding Toasters" on my Vednors as well(ADV MSE with Dect. mods)
