I can't seem to get my probe droid to rename. I tried all the commands like 3 times on 3 different days and it still wont change. Can we still do this or not?

I have seen no problems. What type of droid is it? There are certain chassis that cannot be renamed I.E. Protocol/Medical So that might be it too.

Make sure you are not using numbers, or spaces in the droid name. These the two most frequent problems with naming droids. I would also say it might be a problem if you use numbers in the command.
One final thing make sure the droid responds with the '?' when selectprogram. And with a '!' when you issue the command, if the droid does not give a '!' then there was something he didn't like about either the command or the name.

I used no numbers or spaces or any funny Chars at all. And yes he is taking the commands it is making the command be: name f, or name g, or name a, or name ft, ect. but his name will not change. I guess Probe driod must be one of the ones that can't be renamed

Ditto. Same problem with my R5 droid.
Although, I did try to name him "Colt-45"...
But he responds to all commands...

Maybe a name that is rejected by the filter.
Number is one of the reason, but others can apply.
It is for exemple impossible to name a dorid bodyguard because the name filter doesn't allow it (don't ask me why).
Also, be carefull, name and Name are 2 different things for the droid.
Never tried to rename a droid before, will try soon.

Yea I have noticed that "killer" is a reserved word - meaning not allowed by the filters. No name with the word killer in it will work. Guess SOE want the game to remain "family friendly" or something.

I suspect "Jedi" is also in the name filter.. can't have people running around called "John The Jedi" now can we... and since droids use the same rubbish name filter...
