Thread: What module config should I use for my Probot and LE?
For the probot 4xcombat, 1xauto-repair (or 5xcombat if you are producing repair kits, but who does that anyway?) This is assuming that the owner tries to keep the doid out of harms way which usually works well enoguh. With the one repair module he has at least a way to fix it should it still get damaged.
For the LE 1xcombat, 2xrepair since the damage it does doesn't matter anyway as a tank and the owner will get more xp.
This is my most popular config for this droid. The trick is reasonably pricing them to where low level players will buy them since elite combat profs would rather have a storage droid (at least the ones that come to my shop)

Its all in your marketing, and your description of the droids on your vendor. I make Probots with 5 combat modules, and describe the damage 170-180, and speed 0.73. And push themas good fighting droids. I make other Probots with 1 combat and 4 auto-repair modules. In the description I note that the droid does not do alot of damage (hence does not steal exp), and with the reapir modules, it can take a longer beating, and require less repair kits.
I also sell Probots with 3 combat modules 1 med 110% module, and either 1 food/chem crafting or 1 10 item storage. I market these as droids that can fight, make your stims work better, and even let you craft if the field or hold more stims.
Once you let your customers know what the droid can do for them, they sell. But dont just put them on the vendor with a list of modules, explain the advantages of the modules, and how they work well together.
I hate the marketing side of this business, and if I had my choise, I would just put my droids on my vendor with no description. But I have found over time, that the better I describe my droids, the faster they move off my vendor. Hope this helps.
To simplify my component stock, I make a few probot variations. All of them use a 3-combat module cluster.
advProbot.assault = 5 combat modules
advProbot.medic = 3 combat modules, 110 med module, stimpack dispensor
advProbot.scout = 3 combat modules,creature harvest module, trap dispensor
advProbot.mech = 3 combat modules, 2 auto-repair
I bought one last night, 1 combat module, 2x auto-repair, lvl6 armor, sarcastic personality. Took his gimpy ass to Dantooine after he gave me sas during his training.
Set that bad boy loose, he was tanking pickets and huurtoon's, whining the whole time I might add (thats so funny), and doing well. The only problem is I forgot the repair kits! DOH! But its a very good tanking droid. It can take a helluva beating.
I think if DE's really promote them as ranged profession PvE tanks you'll see some sales. They've got better HAM than any Bio-Engy non-CH pet can, and have better resists across the board.
BTW, DE's on Shadowfire need to get it together. Have a meeting, work on stock and pricing. I got quoted so many different prices for this droid. I found someone who offered it at 17k, which seemed VERY reasonable to me, so thats what I took. Its not crap either, 5780 HAM, 40% resists across the board, I'm happy.
