Thread: Question from new DE re: Droid Defensive Module Harness

Hi all,

I finally finished the grind, went to make my first actual R3 Adv. and ran into a snag. My plan was to put in a level 6 storage module and five 17 quality creature harvesting modules and a couple level 6 armor modules. The problem is that the Adv. R3 schematic lists an optional component of a Droid Defensive Module Harness and I can't find this sucker anywhere. Is this necessary to put in the armor modules? If so, who makes it? I'm Master DE, Master Artisan, and Master Architect and it's not listed in my schematics anywhere. I've checked all the FAQs I can find and still come up with nothing.

The wisdom of my elders would be much appreciated here.

It's just a fancy name for your armor modules. Just drop em in the slots.

It's not like the cluster where you have to make a separate component containing the modules.

Hi all,

I finally finished the grind, went to make my first Adv. R3, and hit a snag. My plan was to put in a level 6 storage module, five 17 quality (85 total) creature harvest modules, and a level 6 armor module. It should be a good little droid for any creature harvester except a high level ranger (I think ). The problem is that the Adv. R3 schematic lists an optional component of a Droid Defensive Module Harness. Now, I'm a Master DE, Master Architect, and Master Artisan and I can't find a schematic for this little bugger anywhere. I've checked all the FAQs I can find and haven't been able to even find a mention of it anywhere. Is this thing necessary for putting in the armor module? If so, where can I find one?

The wisdom of my elders would be much appreciated.

Ack! Disregard this message. The wonderful Lithium Engine told me I wasn't logged in when I posted the other version of this, so I retyped and reposted, only to find my original "not logged in" message got posted. Go figure.

Sorry about the mess

Also, you'll gain no advantage from using two level 6 armor modules. One grants you the max. available to us right now.

Sad..very sad,but true.

If you dont have composite armour segments, you can install 2 level 4 armour modules..the resulting 'so called' armour is the same as one level 6. Wasting an additional level 6 is not a good idea.

I didn't realize until not that long ago how "cheap" composite segments are. Since you can use the base segment, they only take 18 steel (it's some combination of like 10 metal and 8 steel, I just usually use 18 steel). They really are pretty cheap to pick up, as long as you explain you just want the base crap ones.

The best advice to DE's is, if you can, just throw a level 6 in any combat droid/hunting/harvest droid you make to future proof it. The only ones I don't bother is entertainer droids and barkers.

I'll do more testing on it, but I'm positive an adv R3 with 1 level 4 and 1 level 3 armor module show 20% resist on first call

The Droid Defensive Module Harness is just fancy talk for an Armor Module slot. You can put any armor module in them.

Two level 4 modules work as good as a Level 6 module, and you don't need a Krayt composite armor segment for the level 5 or 6.
