Thread: Custom Color Fading?

Ok, so i build an R2 for myself, nothing special, 10 storage Weapon/Droid crafting station, Data Storage (seem to end up with quite a bit of schematics, sincei store them for the guild...).
I decided WHILE CRAFTING to be somewhat comical, and make the droid the green/white color scheme that the training droids are. All is well, named the droid CustomDroidsPST and have gotten many orders while crafting some sub-components and waiting on a shuttle (10 storage is for filler resources).
Well, it was last night, and i hopped up to my factory, pulled out the droid to retrieve a schematic, when i recieve the message that my droids customization had faded... and my comical droid is now solid white.
As i am not "super" upset by it, i would like to know why a crafted color scheme faded offof the droid that i made, but a droid a guildy gave me that is a god aweful color still remains to this day.

The reason that the droid that the guildie gave you that was an awful color didn't fade is because it was not colored in the first place. That is it's base color. I'm guessing it was an LE. Those things have a terrible teal-ish color. As for why your droid's colors faded? Well, that's because the initial paint job is still just a paint job... just one that doesn't use up a paint kit. It fades the twentieth time you pull the droid. Solid white? That's because they apparently have finally removed the bug/feature that made all R-series droids choose a random color scheme as they were being pulled, provided there was not still a paint kit in effect.

actually, its an R3 that is Red stripe with blue body... freekin gross looking.
ok, i understand, thanks for the help, guess i will need to make some custom kits for myself lol.

The good thing is paint jobs from customization kits last 50 calls.
