You need advertising 4 I think to see the options on the radial menu.

For the transfer Idea, not 100% but I think it'll work, for the first hour, but you'll have to either recharge the batteries before the end of the hour or redo the tranfer every time your droid is on low power.

The droid can be programmed by someone with Ad4 and given away, but I don't think it will Bark, it will just hand out the waypoint.

Yes you need advertising 4 for it to bark whether or not a master merchant programs it for you. I have already tried doing this and have tested it with someone who had advertising 3. I ahve yet to see someone use this idea but I also like it. I believe I made the post just after publish 8 went live on the BH and Smuggler forums hoping for someone to show me. Oh the fun we could have...lol

As far as I can tell you need advertising III in the merchant profession to program this droid. If you do not have advertising III can you give the droid to someone who has, and will it still work when he/she gaives it back?

Sorry if this is repeatedly asked... I checked various FAQ's, guides, and scrolled through the first 4 pages of the forum and couldn't find the answer.

I bought an R2 droid named something like "R2 Barker/Food crafting/medical/storage/1playback." So naturally, I assume it _DOES_ have the barker module installed. I didn't see anything in the description that indicated a "Merchant Barker Module" was installed, but I went ahead and bought it anyway assuming this well-known DE knew what they were doing.

So I pull out the droid to Program the Ad and I did not see an option for this (I do have advertising IV). My questions are:

1. should the barked module be listed under the description

2. how do you program the ad (i assume it's under droid options on the radial menu)

Thanks!

Well what is in the "description" is actually written by the DE who put it on the vendor. However, yes on the deed, it should have said merchant barker module or something like that. The same way it says med module and storage.

The advert selections should be easy to find on the radial menu of the droid. If it is not there, contact the DE who sold it to you.

Ok, thanks that's what I meant. Maybe it's my fault for buying it without seeing the barker droid module on the deed, but I've bought quite a few droids in the past that had features that weren't listed.... I assumed it was a bug of some sorts and trusted the name of the deed
