Okay here's my dilemma:
I have a playback droid which I use for a show I'm doing throughout the galaxy, but I am having problems getting it set up on the stage in the venues where I play. Basically the problem is that the droid will follow me until it gets to a certain distance from me, and then it will stop. This distance seems somewhat arbitrary. When I'm in the open the droid will come right up to me after I've been running or walking, and it will stop within 5 feet of me - and that's fine. But when I'm inside a cantina, I run on stage and have the droid follow me, but as I'm running I have to turn and move to the position where I want the droid to be. As I'm doing this, the droid often figures out that I've stopped and only goes to where I made the turn. Then he stops (usually at the back of the stage somewhere). After that he won't come to me because the stages in cantinas are so small that he thinks he's close enough, so I have to run offstage andgo throughthe whole stupid rigamarole all over again.
Is there any way to make minor adjustments in a droid's position and facing? I know it's not exactly a big deal, but I'd like my droid to be facing the audience next to me when I'm doing a gig, rather than facing a wall at the back of the stage.

To get him to a specific location, have him follow you up on stage as usual. He will still stop at some arbitrary distance. Now you should stand there for10-20 secnds, he should start up again and follow right to your position (inside you actually).
Now you can do this to make him rotate:
Get him in the area you want him.
Don't worry about direction he is facing.
Command him to stay.
Walk in front of where you want him to face.
Recharge him.
He will turn to face you.

What I do is just have macro buttons set up with "come" and "stay" and hit them when I want him to do either or. If you use the /tellpet commnad in the macro, nobody else sees it. Facing you really can't control much.

Some have said that if you train the column and wedge formation commands and then use them while grouped with the droid, it's position becomes much more predictable. I have found this to be true outside but hav never had occassion to try it inside. Give it a try, might help.
