On a droid with a datapad, once you give it a set of patrol points, you should be able to store it, and recall it whenever you want. Say I want my merchant barker droid to patrol from the starport in Coronet, to the bank, to the closest shuttleport. Every time I set it up, I need to run around and set the patrol points. Then, if I go to Theed, I have to do the same thing. Then back to Coronet, or Mos Eisley, etc. This gets old pretty fast, especially when the protocol droid is so flingin' flangin' slow.
