I must admit that I am tempted to re grind de. I gave up shortly after the nerfed the prob bot and the mission bot. There does seem to be some more usefullness in the de profession than the medic mse droids i remember. But I in no ways gain anything in the combat professions by owning a droid. Soe has nerfed everything surrounding droids so that droids are unnecessary to the professions. Droids are still just a convenience as far as i can tell. Droids need to become a requirement for each profession to function.


Crafting profshouldbe required to have a droid analyse their schematics before they are created.

JTL should require astro droidsto perform repairs on ships

Docs should be required to have droids to perform buffs

Entertainers should be required to have droids to perform buffs

Harversters should require Droids be assigned to them

Buildings should require droids be assigned to them

All players should be required to have droids to keep there data

All players should be required to have droids to provide the waypoint information necessary to get to locations and view the planet maps

There should be a transport droid module which allows for picking up goods from vendors and dropping them off

There should be a bazaar droid module to allow access to the public bazzar

All players should be required to have droids to Translate communications with NPC's

finally a droidika should be an even match for a master jedi.


I also think there should be a droid mastering profession similar to the pilot profession which goverens the number and type of droids which can be utilized by players. This droid master profession like the pilot profession should not require skill points.


First a droid has to be able to do something. Thenpeople also need tolearn how to make droids do things.

Yer preachin' to the choir, man. I agree with most of those points. The problem is we've already had two major publishes dedicated to our profession, so the chances of getting another major revamp anytime soon is next to nill.

While I agree droids should have more "neccessity", I think some of the things you are asking for are way too much.


And don't even get me started on a separate profession for droid handling...

yeah were all on the same sheet of music here mostly, im doing a post to try and drum up what mods people want to see whom arent DE's

hopefully between that new function/mods and decay (which will likely get put in sooner) we will eventually be a part of the larger SWG universe. all DE's hate that we are just window dressers except for BH/docs and crafters on occassion (i craft 3 product kinds outside DE and dont use a craft droid)

The only "permenant" fix is decay.

It doesn't matter what we add to our line up before then, it will all be temporary economic boosts that will eventually run out.

People have plenty of uses for droids; unfortunately they don't have any reason to repurchase them because they last forever.

Well, I agree, there should be some kind of "necesity" for a droid in some proffesions, but I think the devs said that they didn't think any proffesion should be dependet on droids. Its stupid seeing that you either have to be good friends with a Master Artisan or be one yourself to be a DE.

ok I have 5 droids only used I have for them is storage and 1 power droid, becuase the other droids ask forspecial profsto be able to used mostly crafters and entertainers.


The only droid I could used will be the combat droidthe problem is the combat droid is not that great mostly becuase for the stuffit can tank I can handle without a problem even unbuff and I dont need to wait 15 sec to call it and maybe another 20 sec to store it and for the stuff I could used it is to low in hp so if I try to used it the mob or critter will take out most of his health in 1 or 2 hits.



with jtl out I got a new droid for my spaceship but now that I'm 4/4/4/4 on pilot I only need a flight computer since tier 4 ship dont need a droid anymore, the only thing I was getting from DE will be the droid commads modules even after we got a interface for them but i think there's a bug in the blank droid modules because I'm not getting the option to transfer the write module to my datapad in the radial menu only the examine,destroy and analyze option and I hope it gets fix and Inever saw a problem with buying that for my droid.



Now about the decay I thinkthey could make itif the just change the ham of the droid to look like the swoops health bar and decay by time but alot slower lets say 1 point every 10 minutes players will be able to heal like the heal them now with droid repair kits and add some condition numbers on it lets say 1000/1000so if they get disable players can fix them with special reconstruct kits and they go back to full health but lose condition lets say 25% decay but if you take them to a DE to fix them they only decay 10%, now the problem is that droids that are not for combat will not be able to be disable like the combat droids so lets say the add a 1 on 1000 calls droid failing where it hits a shortcircuit and the droids goes nuts and smoke and sparks comes out and ends up disable.
