Thread: Returned DE confused

Hi all i was absent for a couple months and i come back to see 90% of my droids needing combat clusters instead of general... my question is WHY? you would think they could take both. and now i found my dz70s cant take anything but combat.. while this is somewhat annoying again i dont see why. why should my R2s which in general should be considered primarly a utility droid take only a combat cluster
Hi and welcome back to DE!
I know it can be confusing at first the changes to how these new combat modules work, but when I figured out how they work I liked the changes.
In short, you can still load R2's with regular modules, the only difference is the service modules must go into combat clusters.. even if the modules are not combat modules
Also, Probots and DZ70 droids dont need combat modules to make them able to attack targets, but adding combat modules makes them have higher damage output (will not make them have more HAM tho). Also, droids with at least one combat module makes droids like the LE repair droid and R series be able to attack. That is why those droids require the "combat" clusters or modules, but can also accept service modules. Not all droids can accept combat clusters or modules, only service.
To better answer your questions, I invite you to read this thread: Droid Report: Understanding "Combat Clusters" vs. General (Utility)
