Hi all, I havent used a droid since pre-nerf probots, and i was wondering, in todays market are there any droids that can tank well? As in like a quenker lair ? Im looking for a tank so i can shoot from range.
Thanks

I'd say a tanking LE Repair Advanced droid could do the job for you. It only uses melee, so it would keep the mobs out of your hair while you hit them at range. It's got up to 6k HAM. The only caveat, is you might have to hit it with a repair kit fairly steadily to keep it alive.
Disclaimer: I don't fight, so I'm not sure how hard quenkers would hit your poor droid.

Most of our droids will stand up to a lot more punishment than the old days, but I'm not sure even the best LE would hold up long by itself versus Quenkers. It would depend on your kill speed really. There are options like Repair Kits, and Autorepair modules. In fact I can report good successes versus even higher end mobs using just 3 autorepairing probots (the effect is area based and mutual, they distract and keep each other fixed). of course multiple droids require multiple players.
In brutal honesty, a droid or non CH pet will never be able to help you as much as good armor and buffs, as the game stands currently. If that is your benchmark, we can't meet it.

I am trying to grind solo up the rifleman tree, and as i am fairly inaccurate at close range, i was looking for an alternative to being my own tank.

In that case i would really suggest a R3 tank droid. 5 autoheal modules, should get you 90-100 autorepair power, and with just under 4500 HAM, should last a while. longer than the LE repair. Droid repair kits are definatly your friend tho, and often make an "okay" tank droid, into a 'great' tank droid.

I would ordinarily recommend that droid as well, but without being able to force it into melee mode since Publish 9.2, I'm standing behind the LE Repair for a Rifleman.
I can't speak for all/most DE's, but I have repair kits available on my vendor, along with the 3 common varieties of tank droids. (I notice we're on the same server).

Well, my friend was talking about how there was a to be able to modify the wiring in your droid. It sort of sounds like some kind of thing that isn't very likely so I just wanted to make sure. Said you had to do something like /ui actionOpenDroidModificationHatch. When it didn't work we tried to look more into it. When that didn't work I decided to look onto the forums for help. Will somebody please clear this up for me?
