Thread: A complete different approach to the droid handlers profession, none at all!
- Not really enough skills to justify the skillpoints needed for mastery
- Stacking 2 combat professions gives you extra defense and more damage types, but you can't use two weapons at the same time. A gun and a droid can be used at the same time. This would keep DH in the same area as CH, a support prof, not a real combat prof.
Those 2 combined would make DH a profession for people who love playing with droids, not an overall viable choice. Not a real bad thing, but does not justify the dev time needed to create it.
Solution: Several professions are lacking in skillset to justify the skillpoint cost, Ranger and Smuggler come to mind.
A rough draft of some professions and droid skills they could get:
Bounty Hunters: Increasing level of CL for combat droids with max CL possible at master. (Highly debateable I know, I'm in favor of less visible Jedi, thus in favor of anything that makes BH stronger, stay of the terms if you don't want to die. Obviously, I'm not a Jedi, I do realize there are circumstances and perhaps bugs that put you on the terms without your fault and they should be fixed)
Ranger: Ability to call 2 droids at once. Can use combat droids upto half the max possible CL. (just like CH, e.g. Max is CL 40 so 2 CL20 combat droids or 1 CL40 combat droid and one harvesting droid). Ranger is a loner and has learned to work efficiently with droids in the field.
Squad Leader: Can call 3 droids at once. Can use combat droids upto max CL (again just like CH). Managing all the newbies on a corvette run has given them the mentality needed to work with several droids at once ![]()
Smuggler: Can use a combat droid upto half the max possible CL, has special attacks for droids. Can sliceone attack into other peoples combat droids.
This is a rough draft, it's late and I'm sleepy. Going to bed now. Any flames will be used to cook my dinner
Constructive comment is always welcome.
