None at all. IIRC, it's the same even if you leave the segment out altogether.

Because Armorsmiths, as the norm, don't make composite segments by the crate without special segments in them. Since their factory time is better spent making something that they can sell for a whole lot more than we can pay for these segments, they are rare to say the least. Most DEs that I know of have an Armorsmith make them a schematic or two and drop afactory for a 1K run every so often.

required component ![]()
however, you can use the worst resources you have, and if they ask you do you want any layers, you simply say no ![]()

If you can't find the composite segments, consider using 2 Lvl 4 Armor Modules. 2 Lvl 4 Armor modules offer the same protection as a single Lvl 6. If the droid chassis will take two armor modules, use two Lvl4s and save the Lvl 6s for the chassis which will only hold one. 20% is 20%...

Heck, just have a Novice AS make you a schematic for a basic comp armor segment with some cheap steel you picked up. Throw it into a factory and bingo, you are set for CAS' for a while.
Thats what i did. I just store the segments and factory in my little droid named Armor and i have been good for a while.

I'd suggesting using the search and asking the master armoursmiths if they have any lying around they wanna get rid of! I've gotten probably 1000 comp segs from various armoursmiths
usually get a few hundred in exchange for a droid, works good!
