I stock R3's with 6 scout trap modules, and they do not sell very well. I was told, by a ranger, that they were too fiddly to use and they were better off throwingthings themself.
*hugs*

Never sold one.
Did some for a friend master ranger so he can test it.
Tried 2 trapping + 4 harvest.
Result is : not a good combo, maybe in a combat droid, but better have higher harvest and to annoying to use both at once.
I'm thinking of a probot with 1 trapping module and 4 combat, or an R3 with 2 trapping modules, but I'm not sure alot of people would be interested.
An R3 with only trapping module doesn't seem a good idea at all.
When you launch the trap, the droid will get aggro, and as he doesn't have combat capabilities he will runaway with the mob following him.
More annoying than anything else for the scout/ranger.

I sold 10 of my "Scout R3" model in a mounth :
- 3 trap modules
- 1 combat
- 1 auto-repair
- Item Storage
- Armor lvl6
I had some feedback, the scouts prefer to use it as a combat droid than a trap trower ....
(remember the damages on a combat droid are not proportionnal to the combat rating).
I'll probably start a new small production, 20of these, but only because i wanta large choice of droids in my shop.

I have two characters, one who's a Ranger and the other is a Droid Engineer. I have a Scout Trapping Droid with a Harvest module to it and I LOVE IT!!
As a Droid Engineer I haven't had anyone ask me for a droid with the trapping module, but I have tons of people asking me for Harvesting Droids.

Like most of the other folks here, my creature harvesting Adv. R3 is probably my best seller, and I've never ever been asked for a trapping droid. I have an alt working on Smuggler and Scout right now -- might make a trapping droid for her just to see how well they work for myself. The only ranger I know really well almost never even throws traps by hand, so he'd have no use for a droid that throws them.

I've actually sold these in probots. Put1 or 2in with 3 or 4 combat modules and you have yourself a nice scout combat droid.
The droid launches the trap to initiate combat as the tank. I think one of the trap types can take down both ranged and melee defenses, which is useful when starting off the combat. Plus, I've heard that 'pulling' this way almost ensures that you just get 1 creature mob from a pack.
Darn useful if the scouts take the time to do it. Especially if they use a droid to help in combat anyway.
Just too bad that they can't have one of these out at the same time as their harvesting droid.

Great idea -- but truthfully, speaking as my scout 'toon now, I'd much rather have my harvesting droid out than a combat droid if I'm out hunting for creature resources. It really is too bad that there's no effective way to combine the two capabilities. I'm going to give it a try, though, when hunting on more advanced planets where Etisa (my scout/smuggler toon) really can't solo and see how well it works. Etisa usually doesn't keep her scout droid out there anyway.
