I've owned a Probot, an R2, a Treadwell and have been able to name them all. Recently I've got my hands on a 3PO Protocol droid and cant seem to name him by giving verbal commands and definately not by using the Conversation interface. I can't figure it out so I'm turning to the Masters for help!

You may not be able to. There's no command to do it. I would imagine this oversight is right behind "give TKAs value" on the devs' list of things to do.
