Thread: An idea for droid death

I don't have a droid. I have never had a droid. I don't really need one to protect me or really even help me. Now that the only combat type has been nerfed to the point that they are essentially useless (the Probot) I will likely never have a droid to help me in combat

All that being said, I have friends that use them and have always used them and like them. Now all of my friend's droids have been killed in combat. they no longer have them in their datapads since droids now permadie.

I have a solution that I want to pass along to all you Droid Engineers out there and see if you could propose this to the Dev's through your correspondent.

When a droid dies in battle, it is essentially dead. It can't be recalled BUT you can store the "pieces" that are left of the droid. You then take what is left of the droid and go see your friendly neighborhood droid engineer who either A.) repairs the droid himself getting it back up to full working potential or B.) put's one of his repair droids on it to repair it back up to full working potential.

It still limits droid use in combat for certain, but at least the droids would be repairable if they are destroyed in combat, thus negating the need to keep buying droids over and over and over.

In my opinion, going solely off of the movie knowledge, droids could be repaired. Now, you could add a vitality stat like has been done to CH pets and once a droid reaches a certain level of viatality, it was rendered unrepairable or something.

Any suggestions/comments?

It's an excellent idea. I like it, and I'd buy that for a dollar!

Trouble is... we see new suggestions five times a day. We saw new ideas how to handle this even before permadeath went in.

Permadeath went in anyway. There have been no dev comments since.

I will cheer as loudly as all my fellow DEs if permadeath ever changes, but I'm going to consider the issue closed until a developer says different.
