I had an armorsmith create 4 types of Composite Armor Segments. These segments had from 1 to 3 Protective Armor Layers to add bonuses to specific types of resists.

In each and every case, using Composite Armor Segments as described above does not increase the armors stats above 40%, no matter what type of Armor Layer was installed.

So don't bother with Armored Layers in your segments.

Taking this a bit further, I read the Advanced Armor Guide and came up with this:

When I create my Droid Armor I notice the Armor Rating as being 0. Medium armor should be rated as a 2, and Light armor should be rated as a 1. Currently we have a Armor Rating of 0 being installed in our droids regardless of the type it should be.

This means when a non-armor piercing weapon damages the droid, instead of reducing applied damage by 50% twice (for medium armor) and further reducing it by the Effectiveness percentage of the armor, all damage is being adjusted only by the Effectiveness.

Example: Non-AP Weapon (AP Level 0) causes 1000 damage vs Medium Armor (Armor Rating 2)40%. The damage is reduced by 50% (500) for AP vs AR. It is adjusted again by 50% (250)for AP vs AR. Now the damage should be adjusted downwards one more time by 40% (100)for the Armor Effectiveness resulting in applied damage of 150 points.

So we should see only 150 out of 1000damage against our armored droids if using Non-AP weapon vs Medium Armor 40%.

Using my theory of onlyadjusting the damage by the percentage on the Armor Effectiveness, the same hit would do 600 points of damage withthe current capabilities of our best armor.

I wonder if the reverse is true; using an AP 2 weapon vs our best armor. If so, applied damage would be adjusted upwards by 25% (250), then 25% more (313) for a total of 1563 points of damage against the armored droid.

Remember, this same AP 2 weapon should only be doing 600 points using the formula stated in the Advanced Armor Guide. Instead, it bypasses the armor and gets bonuses to damage.

So much for armor being fixed.

*bump* I would like to hear more ideas expressed on this. I will work on this as well when I can find some durralloy on my server so I can install the Lvl4 and lvl5 armor.

Where do you see the droid armor rating as 0 or 1? The only spot I can really spot the armor rating is on my droid once I've assembled it.

With two Level III Armor mods I get a medium armor with a 25% resist. Taking it up against a couple of creatures it appears to be absorbing in just about that fashion, though I haven't run hard numbers to verify that.

I thought it was working too, cause if you go to the datapad item for the droid after taming it, it will say Light armor or Medium (ar 1 or ar 2), with the resistances to damage. Mine have said Light as expected based on modules I have put in.

AR can be seen on the armor module itself before you install it. It is 0 regardless of what it says on the droid.

Lets look at anAT-ST. They have Heavy 70% armor. Big difference to Medium 40% but let me offer a comparision.

Non AP weapon doing 1000 points of damage to an AT-ST does 38 applied damage.

Non AP weapon doing 1000 points of damage to an armored droid with Medium 40% should only do 150 applied damage.

Armor is still broken. Okay, maybe not broken, but it is definately identified incorrectly.

The modules don't display properly when crafting, but when assembled it does come out properly. Numerical ratings for armor are gone. AR 1 is now listed as Light, AR 2 is now listed as Medium and AR 3 is listed as Heavy. So the Probots with Medium Armor at 40% are pretty good at mitigating damage.

My question is whyare armor 5/6 plates useless? Why would they stop the armor at 4? Or is this just a bug in the #'s displayed on the droid? Anyone actually duel an armor 4 Probot vs an armor 6 Probot? I can do this if nobody else has...
