To date, the Droid Engineering profesion has been for all practical purposes been useless. The most recent useful "fix" has been to give them their full experimentation points. This is partly sad, seeing as this game has been out for so long and this problem was addressed so late. By nerfing CH it was thought that DEs would get more use. Ok, gimp droids are still gimp droids even if CH pets have been recently nerfed. All this did was cause everyone to don composite armor and reinvest points on a more beneficial combat tree.

I've been reading forums since I first started my account, hoping for something to come our ( DE community ) way. Recently the Devs stated that the DE profession will get some love. But now the issue is to split the class between DE and DH. I see why the Devs would want to do this, but who would want to handle a group of gimp droids in the first place?

I could rant forever, so could the majority of this community. My point here is to state the realization I had.

DEs are a broken profession. They will remain broken. The Devs have not been in any hurry to fix this class and there does not seem to be any sign of change. As disheartening as this sounds we all hope differently and hope that our time has not been wasted by pursuing a class that itself cannot compete with the other crafting classes.

These are my opinions , take them with a grain of salt. This is what I think will be the future of the class. If future patches prove me wrong I would be delighted. However, this does not seem the case at this point.
