Thread: If it comes down to one or the other, what will your vote be?
Does the phrase *Lazy Programming* spring to mind?
SOE Dev1 "Well we better do something soon to keep the gimpy DE's happy"
SOE Dev2 "Well I cant really Be arsed"
SOE Dev3 "I know, Lets give them some useless crap and pretend its what they asked for!"
SOE Dev1 "Copy the CH and BE type skills and call it Droid Handler"
SOE Dev3 "Woohoo, I'll copy the tables and gin up some crap for certs, Job done."
SOE Dev2 "Great Lets make in live in a few weeks so it looks like we have worked on it"
SOE Dev4 "What about the Skill points though. DE's need master artisan and a Lot have Merchant too"
SOE Dev5 "Well bugger em, they are only De's For god's sake, Not like they are Creature Handlers is it?"
All Devs " Muwahahahahahahahahahaha"
1) Put "Droid Handler" skills in the current DE tree
2) Make a seperate "Droid Handler" profession as proposed by TH.
--Opinion Below--
If it comes down to this, as much as I hate it, to me the lesser of the two evils is choice 1. At least then I want to use the droids I make. Perhaps make it that a DE can only use combat droids he makes? Or make MA (since most of us are anyway) a requisit to discourage people from taking DE just for the droids. Either way, I wouldn't want us or DH more powerful than CH.
Thats my opinion on it. But I'm hoping they go with Drashk's cert system.
What do you guys think?

Then again, ignore this post. Lets not even go there unless all hope is lost

I cant ignore it!
Id vote for the DHprofession IF I had no other choice. Who the hell an I going to sell droids too if DE's get the tree...

I just want to use a Droideka without having to drop any of my current skills
I guess I'd have to vote for a DH class, unless they made harvestor costs zero....
But I am hoping and praying that they go with a cert system.
Heya, fellow Radiant DE! (Like your sign, BTW
)
Anyway, if it came right down to it, I would vote NO tomore powerful combat droids and tell the devs to make droids more useful to the everyday player. Survey droids, slicer droids, ... We came up with a TON of ideas, and I would prefer to fill a different niche than one that's already filled with creature pets....

Hey your shop is just a few 100m from mine
But yeah, thats a good idea. Honestly, how many combat droids could they possibly come up with? 3 or 4? If it comes down to these two options, I'd just want a Droideka with pre-nerf Probot stats (not much to ask for) for MDE usage. Then have them work on our other ideas
We do have a lot of ideas and I'm sure many of them could be implementing in a much shorter time frame than their projection to make a whole new profession.

Without knowing just how powerful these "Droid Handler" skills (and their droids) are, it is difficult to choose.
Given the tendency of everyone to assume that these new combat droids will be powerful, though, I would have to votefor #2. I do not want the Droid Engineer profession to become a combat class, which is exactly what would happen if you added powerful combat droids (and related abilities) to the DE skill trees.
