Thread: HOW TO MAKE MONEY AS A DROID ENGINEER!!!
I hear to many people in these forums complaining about how they dont make enough cash as a droid engineer. When my vendor is fully stocked I make about 200-300k a day. Now that I make armor too I make alot more. So I am going to share with you my secrets for making money. Many of you will already know what I am going to say, many obviously wont.
#1. Put your vendor on the global market, and make sure the vendors title has arefrence to your master droid engineer status. I know when I look for any type of goods I will go to the masters first, mainly because they make the best goods. My vendors title on AHAZI is "M A S T E R MADE DROIDS". THIS gets me alotmore sales.
#2. Put your vendor close to a major city. I put mine just outside of anchorhead. It is convenient... people would rather go chance somewhere close for what they are looking for. Also make sure you put your shop next to a city that has alot of traffic. Putting it on rori wont get you business.
#3. Think OUTSIDE THE BOX. I have a droid frame in my store that I named. "LIKE MY CUSTOM BILLBOARD FRAMES... I CUSTOM MAKE THEM, EMAIL HEROINE". People like to put the custom named droid frames in thier stores. People order these about 2-3 times a week.
#4. Sell only advanced droids. Remember people want the best, and something that says advanced gives the idea that it is better than the standard.
#5. Sell every type of advanced droid. Sell everything from advanced BLL to advanced R5.
#6. Keep atleast 5 types of every droid in your vendor.
#7. Use only top Modules, and make sure you tell your customers that in the description of the droid.
#8. Sell droid batteries by the crate.
#9. Sell droid storage compartments by the crate.
#10. Sell seekers and akaryds by the crate.
#11. Make sure you sell every type of droid frame you can. People use these to decorate, and the adv protocol droid is used to make shuttle ports. Again Make sure you have atleast 5 of each in your vendor. And make sure you color them, to look cool.
#12. Dont put crafting stations in your droids that go on your vendor, custom make these. But make sure you have a frame in your shop that says you will custom make droids with top level crafting stations. I found from experience droids with crafting stations dont sell well. Same goes for repair modules.
#13. This is going to sound bad, but if your selling an item fast, raise the price on it. If you find you are not selling a product, lower the price. Once you get to a point where you are selling as fast as you can craft, and still keep your vendor stocked you are setting your prices right.
#14. Dont be afraid to hassle bounty hunters. Send them an email with your prices for akaryds and seekers.
#15. I may have already stated this.... but it is the most important thing you have to remember. Most people that come into your shop already have an Idea of what they want. So dont sell them what you think they need, sell them what they want. So if they want a surgical droid with a med station instead of an adv probot with a med station let thembuy it, when they realize that it sucks for mobility and only has 45 ham they will buy an adv probot with a med module. Keep your vendor stocked with everything that anyone might want. And stock it as much as you can. Always K.I.S.S. (keep it simple stupid).
If you disagree with what I said let me know why please, because I am only basing what I said on my experience. Also if you sell something else that I did not mention post it. I would love to sell more droid stuff than I already do.
I find that stocking certain models that I'm known for helps. And also keeping your vendor stocked with droids. Right now I have about 200-250 droids on my vendor, and when I get home from work today a factory run of 99 advanced probots with 110 med/10 storage will have been made. And I'm in the process of making 99 R2s with 110 med/10 storage/food/chem station. These models sell. ![]()
You gotta make factory runs... Make as much as you can at one time.... so you dont have to do it again for a month or two
I found making factory runs of frames is a big waste... especially when it takes like a minute to make the frame. Making the components for a frame in a factory on the other hand is somethingI definitly recommend. Mainly because droids typically use the same components, so when you are building droids or frames... you can just add in the parts. So plan to make atleast 100 of every droid component. And when items start getting low start factorying items. That is my problem right now.... i did not factory enough stuff and I am behind in my vendor, and I know i am loosing sales because of it.
