Thread: Drashk, how can you stand being the DE Correspondent?

Drashk,

I have been reading a lot of your posts lately and have to ask you, why aren't you trying harder to get people to see the points you are making about the future of de? I think that you are one of the few people that I have seen post their views on the subject with such a grasp on trying to keep the class balanced and whole. I am glad that you were picked as the Correspondent, but at the same time I feel sorry for you because of the position that it puts you in. How can you stand to see the dozens of people that are complete idiots and believe that turning de into a combat class is the best solution? I find it ironic that TheWoody has completely turned against the message that he has been preaching at the DEA meetings and wants to see droid sales ruined by making de the only class to control combat droids. I really hope that people keep this in mind the next time TheWoody wants to throw another one of this little meetings.

D-man, you have made it pretty obvious to me that a dh class might be the better solution to for de to go with because it is becoming pretty obvious that the droid cert idea will never fly with the TH, no matter how it is created. The devs are right in that there needs to be some kind of skill point cost involved and that even using a system that you suggested would still result in overpowered classes becoming even more overpowered. It would also really limit what level droids we could sale and I want a crafting system that allows us to craft droids with much more varied results.

People are making some pretty stupid assumptions that dhs will be anything like chs. The entire concept of baby droids and taming wild droids is laughable and anyone that thinks dhs will have this ability really needs to consider not breeding...EVER. SOE has pulled some pretty asinine stunts in the past, but I think that taming wild droids is even beyond their stupidity.

I like how you have been trying to get people thinking about trying to get a hand in on the brainstorming of a dh class. Some think that you are giving up on other possible ideas, but I see it as you are just trying to get a head start on what you think might be the best solution. I don't agree with everything that you have said, butI appreciate that you are trying to at least get people thinking about it. I really wish that more people would wake up and pay attention to some of the points that you have shared like the point about the crafting system. I agree with you completely that by limiting droids to level 20 we are trying short change ourselves and all of the resources that we have been gathering over the past months will go to waste on any droid less that a level 30.

Thanks for being our correspondent and I hope that you keep fighting for what des need, even though most are blinded by their own stupidity.

I don't think insulting the general population is going to be too helpful here, matey.

Wow, your first post and you start insulting people? classy. What are you actually bringing to the discussion?

Not much from what I see here.

But I'll say this. Drashk, you've got to have skin made out of High UT steel to keep it up after these past few days, I'm sure you're going to continue to do the best job you can, and I hope things get better from here.

what? I thought YOU knew how to get the caramilk into the caramilk bar.....

Er... that's one reason why we're poking fun... Mostly because it's so incredibly stupid if they did and just more typical "SOE".

Hmmm....From it being your first post , I'd guess you're also fairly new to the game

I think perhaps you should test out a few professions before you cast down thunderbolts from your ivory tower.

Good point

But he was still rather insulting , especially since many of those comments WERE made in jest.

Perhaps less inflamitory remarks would help him carry his point better.

For Drashk, I believe this is known as trial by fire.

The idea of "taming" a droid in the wild is indeed silly, but "capturing" a lost droid in the wild is not. The concept has a strong foundation in Star Wars lore.

Use /equipJawaBlaster for a droid capture bonus!

Catching droids in the wild?? INTRODUCE JAWAS AS PLAYER CHARACTERS!! I'll immediately delete my character and start playing a jawa. I'll have just enough marksman to have the ion rifles, and the rest in droid capturing... muahahaha, Droid Hunter Jawa... Forget this crafting droid nonsense...

ootini!!

(Actually, droid capturing and Jawa player character sound extremely cool, I'd vote for it)
