Ok, I made an advance surgical droid... with the following three things in the general socket:

  1. Food/chem station

  2. level 6 med healing

  3. level 6 item storage

#3 did not get into the droid? I am 100% sure the items were in the socket.

So, I made another droid. This time an regular R2 with the same modules in the general socket. This time I didn't get #1? What gives? Any ideas?

Has this happened to ANYONE ELSE?

I did not experiment and used modest resources for all parts.

Read the stickies as this is covered in the current issues thread. Item storage doesn't work in the surgical chassis.

Storage does not work in surgical droids, but works in all other droids except BLLs, which have no service modules, at least to the best of my knowledge.

Make sure you are not standing next to another crafting station when trying to use the crafting station on your droid. Also, double the power and feed it another battery charge, just in case.

Hmmm. Don't need power to use the Droid's crafting station, it's allways effective, even "*low power*". The only possibility I see is the above-mentioned: maybe you're too close to a personal or public crafting station (their range goes through walls!)

I was in the middle of no where. So, no conflict with other stations. I think the mod just got dropped, and that seems to be something that happened ALL THE TIME to a DE I asked online. Can someone confirm that they have dropped mods put into a droid?

Why would anyone buy a droid off a vendor if it's a crap shot whether the mods are really there?

I've had this problem several times, but the consensous seems to be they work, so i stopped worrying about it.

But mine do not work regardless of the general public's opinion.

Last night I tested the 2 droids I made in the middle of a field. The R2 had no crafting station, and I am 100% positive I put it in the general socket. I know because I checked it about 10 times due to the mystery of my surgical droid not having item storage (which I now know to be a bug).

The R2 has no crafting station. The mod must of been dropped. But I will just tell my customers the consensus is that it does work. What they are experience is not really happening. This is not here. You are not reading this. It's all just a dream...

BTW - I did make a 3rd droid for my customer. This one was an LE droid, and got the 3 mods he wanted.

Hey Epak,

How are you testing the droid to prove that it doesn't have the crafting module you installed?

Currently, there is no way to tell what crafting modules are in a droid. The deed WON'T say so and the tamed droid WON'T say so.

The only way to test it is to call it out, and in your case, try crafting some food and see if you can experiment on it. If the option is there, then the module was correctly crafted into your droid. You should be able to craft travel biscuits as a novice artisan.

It's a simple solution, but just making sure all the bases are covered. Good luck!

Yeah, I just crafted some bofa treats with a food/chem tool. 2 of the 3 droids had the station, which was evident by the option to experiment. I'm just assuming that its a random bug. Wouldn't surprise me a bit. I was just curious if it was "known issue".

Thanks for all the help everyone.

Thanks for the replies. That answers the first question, but what about the second droid i made? That was an R2, but the food/chem station didn't get installed? I talked to a former M DE online last night and he said that mods drop all the time from general socket clusters.

Anyone else had that experience?
