I was thinking about all the different modules that don't work in certain chassis but do work in others, for instance the repair module not working in the repair chassis.

Was an explanation ever offered for this occurrence? It just seems odd that the modules work in some chassis but not others.

They are bugs. A poorly implimented 'converse' programming scheme and command structure for power droids is what is to blame for the lack of module functionality in some droids.

It is intended for any module to work in any droid.
