Make COMBAT droids permadeath.

that is, any droid with a combat module, if incap'd will permadeath.

This effectively removes the issue of having people owning super combat droids, for they would be quite expensive to keep buying an army of them, it controls their numbers since those with low income/low levels just cant afford to keep buying something that would be like a prenerf probot, it gives lots of bussiness to droid engineers (for both repair droids and new combat droids), and there would be no need to certify people for the droids, as money talks. the better the droid the more resources it needs, the higher the price.

'Foolish boy. Don't you know anything about Fantasia? It's the world of human fantasy. Every part, every creature of it, is a piece of the dreams and hopes of mankind. Therefor, it has no boundaries.'
'But why is Fantasia dying then?'
'Because people have begun to loose their hopes and forget their dreams. So the nothing grows stronger. It's the emptiness that's left. It's like a despair, destroying this world. And I have been trying to help it.'
'But why?'
'Because people who have no hopes are easy to control. And whoever has control has the power'

Droid certs would be enable players to use combat droids of various CL - Challenge Level ratings usedfor combat creatures - and require them to spend skill points to use higher CL pets.

This is the model for skill use that the entire game is based on.

If you want to gain skills or use higher level items you must spend skill points to do it.

Droid permadeath won't change the need to aquire skills and spend skill points to use items.

"When Sony and Lucas set out, we said, How can we do this and not make another EQ? We didn't want it to be all about Luke, or combat, or lock our players into a class. So we created a system that would allow players to switch professions during the game, and there would be a lot of gameplay around making that change. If you want to go from architect to scout we've created a system to make that happen."

If they give all combat classes a Certification for a droid type, then give the DEs blueprints for Combat droids that are basically a walking extra weapon then I think it would be ok.

But If you have a new combat class called the Droid Handler, then you have a whole new market for combat droids.

Have four trees in which your handling skills are enhanced. Allowing to have the ability to control more than one droid and then have another tree to give you special programing skills for the droid.

Basically XCopy Class_CreatureHandler to Class_DroidHandler.

I don't see anything wrong with creating a new class that is solely dependent on the Droid Engineer's product. The BH is already dependent in some ways to our seekers and arakyds, so why not the same with combat droids...

BTW, do not give the DH class the ability to tame wild droids.... this will not be good....
