Hello all,

Now I am not a Driod engineer I am a Master tailor and working towards BE. However I have been told that to help me find resources a Interplanetary Survey droid would be very useful to me. I have found some for sale in a shop for 30000. The thing that is confusing me is when I examin the item it says Quantity 14 Mechanism Quality 50; what does this mean. Does it mean I can only use the droid 14 times ???

I have tried to find a Droid engineer on line but no-one seems to be either there or not responding.

So I come here in the search of knowledge to find out what this droid actually does and if it's a good price. Will this droid die after 14 uses?????? I am sooooo confused

Please help me People

Yes the interplanetary survey droids are one use only and come in stacks...so what you saw would give 14 uses....30K is a little steep if you ask me...

FYI - also...everytime you use an interplanetary survey droid it requires 1 survey tool(each droid can only survey for 1 type of resource, mineral, gas, chemical etc.) in your inventory which will get used up also...so you will need some survey tools when you use the droid....

The IPS Droids are nice but do have somewhat limited use since it is usually more conveniant to use www.swgcraft.com to see what is currently available on any server/planet! I use the droids sometimes to check if what I am mining is still available so I know when to go pull my harverters.

Thanks for the info that clears a lot up. I think I will just use the website to check.

From the DE 101 guide, stickied to the top of the forum.

Interplanetary Survey Droid
This is a multi-use item that gives a Novice Artisan the ability to receive information on resources that are present on a different world. Use of this droid requires a tool of the resource type that the droid is sent out to investigate. After the droid performs its duty, it sends out an E-mail that lists all resources that are found to be present. This item does not give stats or concentrations of the listed resources.

The time that the droid takes to complete its survey is based on 3600 - (27 * Quality) in seconds.
Example An ISD with a Quality rating of 40 will produce a list of resources in 42 minutes. 3600 - 1080 {27*40} = 2520 / 60 seconds = 42 minutes.

Making SWG more Star Warsy. One droid at a time.

The bummer part about IPS is that they only tell you what is available and thats it...no quality/stat info at all, thats the real reason swgcraft.com is much more conveniant....if the IPS droids returned the resource stats as well I would use them since it adds to the whole immersion vibe : )

Firstly sorry for the bumpage on an old thread.

My question is this. I made an IPS Droid with QUANTITY 7 and QUALITY 85. I got the quality bit covered but what the hell does the Quantity bit mean? Is it the number of uses?

Cheers
