Thread: My baby pet can take on your weak probot any time...
Hi D.E.s,
I was at a starport yesterday, waiting for the next shuttle as usual,many other players were there.We started to have some gigantic pets poping on us, you know Rancors and so on. As I was not getting the point of "showing" us their huge thing (hmm), I said something like
"People with BIG pets seems to compensate for something small in their life".
Some people LOLed, butthe tamer said : "If you are insulting me, YOU must be the one with a problem". I then said it was only a joke, but he added something like "My baby pet can takeon your weak probot any time". "Your mama must be proud" I answered. Hopefully the shuttle came...
So I'm not here to start another "un-nerf probots" thread or anything like that, Devs sure know that D.E. is one of the profession that need the most some fixing...

Beef up the Probots a wee bit, and....
Add Droidekas!
First time I saw a Droideka, I was so amazed at its damage it was doing to me and so in awe with dreams of crafting Droidekas that I almost forgot to run for my life.... almost.
Most all droids need help. ie.... :
It just doesnt seem right to be able to put a Med6 Mod in a MSE droid.. Don't generalize all droids...make true distinctions.
Should be able to load up an R4's (or other droid's) datapad with schematics and stick it in your factory with resources and it will automatically start your next factory runs as long as resources hold out.
Place stimpacks in Surgical Droid and they should be able to heal you with skill..an Adv Surgical droid should be able to heal you with Much Skill.
A DE should be able to have multiple droids out at once.... Why would that be so unbalancing when a CH can have multiple Monstrous pets out at once? ...or an Imp have out AT-STs with other pets?
Class Balance seems to be all about crushing capable droids, yet allowing Creature Handlers to run around with whatever they run across as a pet....what would be the harm in allowing droids to come close to even medium quality CH pets? And if we got droidekas and such, im sure the Dev Team will make it difficult to craft, such as requiring some parts to be made by weapons or armorsmiths. Face the facts...It would be much more difficult to produce a QUALITY droid than it is to locate and tame a baby that will grow up to be a Monstrous Pet. heck, it already is that way..the only differance is we can only craft wimps for all the time we spend doing it.
If the power cells on C-3PO and R2 were as lame as the ones we have, those droids would be falling over every other scene in the movies... get realistic in a Sci-Fi way...in advanced times our batteries would be advanced too...even a 9v Energizer Battery would power a droid longer than the in-game ones do.
A repair bot should truly offer some form of Repair bonus... ie.. Weaponsmith/Armorsmith pop out a repair bot and Know they are going to do some good repairs.
Can't understand what that wookie is saying?? Pop out your protocol droid and it will automatically translate for you!
Need just a wee bit of help perfecting that house you are building, Ms. Architect?? No worries...This R2 unit is hooked up to your comlink, and is equipped with that very same schematic you are studying..and will help guide you through the final stages of customization.. (in reality, that knowledge droid enhances your success rate)
...sorry, got carried away, but just barely broke the surface of what could be done with droids. myself and my rl friends talk about droids daily, it seems. In the stories, droids were a Very Important part of their lifestyle. here in SWG, droids barely contribute more than a Neat Factor. (wow.look, Marge,there is another droid that looks like C-3PO.)

I have the horrible feeling that you are right.
Droids will never be as good as CH pets, I am pretty certain that the devs know that most people like pets and arne't going to do serious nerfage to this area of the game.
The best we can hope for is that the droids will be better than non-CH pets, but I am guessing they will be difficult to make andexpensive, and BE pets will be cheap.

People only like pets because they are overpowered.
Keep in mind that Holo has mentioned that he does not like the idea that non-ch pets are as good as they are when probots (who use to be good) are now crap. I am a BE and a CH and I fully expect and support the future nerf of non-ch pets. I am betting it will be something like chaning the max non-ch level pet to 10...this would drastically reduce the power of non-ch pets.
