Thread: Bug reports and our plights
A thought just occured to me. I work on a help desk for a living, and the number one thing that we have to do when providing customer support is to keep the ticket counts down and the bug reports to a mininum. I'm guessing that the SWG support probably have similar rules as well.
As such, here is my suggestion. We should, all of us DEs, sit down and start sending off bug reports. Our profession is full of bugs and broken items so we have every right to send in a bug report for every single thing that is broken. Eventually, if everyone sends in their bugs, then it'll pile up too high to ignore and the help department will start putting real pressure on the programming 'repair crews' to get this whole thing fixed.
I for one am going to start filing away all the different bugs I can spot in teh DE profession tonight (saturday morning, GMT time). You're welcome to join or not join at your discretion but I think this may be a viable way of letting our voices be heard. Thoughts everyone?
Customer Service traffic is precisely what drives product changes in large corporations that are RESPONSIVE. I'm beginning to doubt that is the case here though. Once upon a time I had several tickets open.. then SOE limited us to 3 tickets, then 1 ticket, then PURGED all freakin' tickets! Doesn't strike me as a company that's really interested in what the players want.
I witnessed a fellow player's LARGE house disappear along with all the tailoring, furniture, etc.. items in it.. shop, residence, etc.. *poof*. CSR appeared some time later (props to the CSRs, one did in fact show up) and plainly stated that there's a cap on anything they can reimburse a player and if they gave her back her house or the equivalent income/cash value she had lost, the CSR "would be fired". I give the CSR two thumbs up for honesty, but two big greasy-hairy thumbs down for SOE's policy for helping players out.
Ack.. what a rant.. My apologies. In my opinion, /bug everything my good man! However, as for myself, Iintend to wait in my corner for my products to work and my tools to be repaired. (like the "repair" tool.. oh the irony)
I almost fell out of my chair this morning when reading today's patch notes:
-- Changed patterns of one of the bodysuits so that players who have chosen a flesh-colored color for the clothing do not appear to be naked.
-- begin sarcasm--
*Really* glad they got that taken care of, that was a HUGE issue....
-- end sarcasm--
Which brings up the question, what is the priority ranking of bugs and issues "in the queue"? Which is most important in influencing the CSR/Devs to work on specific fixes?
We've got:
-- the forums on this site
-- /bug
-- one customer support ticket per player
-- correspondents
-- IMs/Email to specific devs
-- the chat rooms via the launchpad
I wonder which mechanism rates the highest on the feedback monitor for the support team.
