If you find crafting boring then I'd recommend not choosing a crafting profession like Droid Engineer.

Seems obvious enough to me.... =)

If you think crafting to get to droid engineer is tedious, you will certainly find levelling AS a droid engineer far worse.

LOL, this is actually a pretty funny post. "can anyone tell me how to get novice creature handling without having to tame so many crappy pets!! It is driving me ensane!!" could be a direct correlation couldnt it? Or novice doctor or "FILL IN THE BLANK".

To answer tiy question...no...make the same crap all the rest of us did. If you can't stand the pain to be in the most neglected class in SWG, get out now.

I have done over 40 hours of crafting by now and am not master yet may be taking longer then somes but the only thing that is slowing me down from being master is lack of resources. I craft when running from place to place i craft while surveying. I craft all the time. I have not become bored of it yet.

Get about 50 AT-STs worth of faction points and trade them in.

It is constant grinding... it's also extremely boring if that's all you do. The only suggestion I have is to pick up another primary profession and play that one when you need excitement, and dabble in DE when you're in the mood for some clicking. It seems like you might want something a bit more exciting, which is perfectly fine. If you want to grind on a part for the most xp, remember to get to Advanced Droid Frames (BP2) and do it in Practice mode.

There is no other solution, save a healthy music collection on your PC, a hefty bowl of snacks, and maybe a good movie or two ready to goin the DVD player...
