Thread: I think DE are the solution to a problem, Am I missing something .?
DE want /NEED more driods modules to build. Obviously enough, if your a crafter, there should be stuff to craft.
Players want more "starwarsy" tanks, other than 2 rancors, a Gran Wrix, and ablooming jax for kicks. Can'tblame them there. Immersion is important
Sooo... whats difficult about this? Why are DE not building high level driods that .....tank. Would this be a bad thing, impossible to do, or just not "starwarsy?".
It seems so simple to me that I just stare blankly when trying to think of a reason why not. FIll me in, why wouldn't it work.

I'll answer your question... DE's technically only have two combat-capable Droid Chassis... the DZ70 Tracker Droid and the Probot. The DZ70 has a HAM of 45. Yes, 45..... The Probot, is in the neighborhood of 810 HAM.
That's it... nothing more...Zilch, nada, end of story. We can't craft 2000, 3000, or 4000 HAM droids, the game won't allow us to. We are able to give the Probot Medium armor and 40% resists, which can tank for a short while, but it's still significantly sub par when compared to creature pets. I was running through Theed last night and I easily found creature petsrunning around with thousands of HAM points and extremely high % resists on more than one type of attack. Isaw one creature pet withthree 100% resists, and a handful of 70%'s. Those things can tank... it's debatable that an 810 HAM droid with 40% resists can tank, though I am a firm believer that they cannot. I've been to Endor on big 20 person raids... a Probot would blow acircuit so fast, it's not even funny! Oh, one more thing. The Probot attacks for 30-50 points of damage in most instances, significantly less than most creature pets. It's like holding up a lit match to Tatooine's twin suns. Include the fact that creature pets can be healed on the fly while droids must take time to "regenerate" damage to their HAM bars and, well, last nail in the coffin?
So, the short answer to your question is this: I think most of us want to help youby building "tanks", but the game won't allow us. Please don't blame DE's, blame the buggy game system, the SOE corporate suits, the overworked programmers, and the myopic developers. We want to help, but we can't.
Why am I still here? Because we may get fixes that correct this laughable miscarriage of Lucas' vision. And I'll be there when that day happens.
