Thread: The #1 reason to invest developers in DE vs. CH
Droids have the potential to require components from MANY professions.
Creatures do not.
Why spend another second on the CH class when DE is going to keep the economy moving?
'nuff said.

Only reason they have is, the real world economy matters more to them than the player driver economy, and:
500DE's vs. 150,000CH's means,
pleasing the CH's is more important than the DE's.
All our droids are belong to them.
Add to that number the number of armorsmiths, weaponsmiths, artisans, and maybe even architects that could benefit from filling the DEs needs for various components and you probably have a significant portion of the population of the game.

You are right Tribble, and I am far-sighted enough to see this, but Sony is still in "put out the biggest fire" mode, which they have been since release (and probably for the past 3 years in development), so this type of indirect benefit to their game is less tangible to them.
Overall, more useful droids would make the game TONS better, but the impact would not be immediately apparent to Sony, as more useful droids would make each person's playing experience better, thus leading them to play (subscribe) for a longer period of time. However, this can't be measured very easily.
You get what I'm saying I think. I certainly agree with you.

I don't disagree with you... but SOE had thenerve to delete customer service tickets for 200,000+ players in one fell swoop. That's a very gutsy move and it angered a lot of players, regardless of their professions. With that said, if they had the nerve to pull that kind of stunt off with the entire player base, then they can certainly make a more serious "balance pass" that brings parity and equality between the 500 DE's and the 150,000 CH's.

It's all dribble the ch can atleast take out a player my droid can't even take out two mummer thugs. It was made by a master DE with a crafting station. We got reamed.
A level 1 CH can go out, tame a rock beetle. turn around and sell it in ten minutes for 5k. no expense, all profit.
