How much does it take to break a DE's back? well actually quite a lot, we are a hard bunch of people, but this is just going too far.

Instead of this publish making things better, they get worse, and I know what I am talking about here, this is not wild ranting it is fact.

At the least, if you ignored us in the combat revamp, even though you knew droids were coming, if you ignore us day to day and never post anything to raise our spirits, if you don't begin to understand the players wish to have droids......at last WITHDRAW that wallpaper..its all a total fabrication of life in SWG..oh, unless you go to the Correllian Corvette of course. I searched that picture and nowhere did I see (Corvette only)

Droid Invasion? How can you honestly be happy in your work when you know perfectly well the general population will be unhappy.

Be Honest about Droids for a change...not one good thing is coming in this publish except droid stims..and you took away our armour to give us that.

Anyone want an R2 with a blaster duct taped to it? People care TH, why dont you and the Devs?

You know what's funny, though? There wasn't any mention at all about droid crafting or droid use over at Lucasart's website for this game, or there wasn't last time I looked. I would love to spend some time with a developer over a period of several intense DE sessions and after the novelty wears off. I just want to have a real conversation about the reward vs. time, effort, and frustration. Constructive, of course. But I often wonder why I even choose to remain a DE besides waiting for something good to happen to the profession.

It will be great to finally be able to repair them, and well, not feed them as many batteries. And to be honest, I like the little buzzsaw and the cattle prod. But for all of that, the R5 still does pretty much the same thing he could do last July. I keep waiting for them to be cool robots. Maybe that's too big a hope.

I am curious as to why droids are not moving towards a more unique function. I have always considered armor to be a unique feature of droids, but I admit to loathing the extremely low HAM. But droids will now be extremely similar to creature pets, but without some of the benefits. I haven't played with the new ones myself, but the reports seem to indicate that they are indeed worse unless you are a really good babysitter.

Is this confirmed after all? Because I don't know if I have the time or energy to rectify this situation. (assuming it can be rectified) I am having a great deal of trouble finding an armorsmith to make me some crates of composite segments.For 20% resistances, it just makes me want to vomit.

I definitelythink it might be too far. I have rolled with it for this long, but the next publish after this one bringsfour (?)new module types, all of which don't sound beneficial. Along with the crafting nerf, I am starting to wonder if I really do want experimentation to work. Basically, I feel like my product is being eroded instead of buffed. I like bug fixes as much as the next person. But I was under the impression that those were "freebies".

Oh, and by the way, is the combat revamp going to gimp CL10 droids even more? If the combat changesrender CL10 pets completely as housepets, then we will be completely dependent on whatever utility modules that we will have. Which as of now,still look like medical modules and storage. I hope that they decide what they want droids to do soon. By the way, I hate getting spanked by droids that I can't even build. Master DE... HA!

Only thing I really want to add is that the combat modules would have been a lovely addition to droids if the droids already did something beneficial. To focus on combat when we know that CL10 is not a combat effective pet seems pretty insignificant. Now I know that there is a lot of work under the hood going on, and I can appreciate that. But to wait until at least the Space Expansion to realize something other than smoke, mirrors, and explodey droids does seeminsufficient from my perspective.

When I think about what other profession I would go to, I always ask myself if I will need a droid when I get there. Usually, the answer is no. I ask myself if I will need a weapon when I get there. Usually, the answer is yes. I ask myself if I will need clothes, food, spice, medicine, some kind of armor (although a wookiee), a mode of transportation, a house or other structure, andthe answer is yes. If I modify the question enough, I usually end up thinking I would like to have a droid. That's just not the idea I had of living in the Star Wars universe, you know?

Yeah, I admit the thing is a little misleading, but not the showstoppingly horrible poster that people have complained about.

Course, what happens next over the next few days will be the decider for what'll happen in publish 8, so I beckon for people to be on good behaviour and not go off on a bender because their advertising department doesn't actually play the game or communicate with the Devs. Save the energy and frustration as we may only have one last shot for getting droids like those any time soon, and if things don't go off smoothly then it'll be an uphill battle for us to push it.

I think the wall paper is misleading, just like the a lot of the newbie video they have. I watch that video and it is really cool, but it is over 60% jedi action in it. Now maybe I hide out in my shop too much, but i have only ever seen one playerjedi, fought an NPC jedi once, and that is it. So it looks like another in the long line of misleading advertising. If I bought this game I would expect to see those droids in game. Now are we going to at least see them in game? as NPCs or something. I have been hanging on to Master DE until this publish but I am very usure whether I will keep it afterward.

I fear this is their tactic to force the dreaded unwanted DH class on us....non of us veteran DE's wanted this yet SOE is primed to force feed us with it!

thank you for your post Shian_Tavkin. I hope they don't offer a off-handed comment that this is a prelude to pub 8.

As much as i like TK, the new Corr, he leans to far towards the DH for my taste. The DE from Beta was always to be a duel craft/combat class.

I really like the idea of trading the R5 for a roger roger droid plus adding the personality chip option...at least it would add humor.
