Thread: renaming your droid
You'll have to use the droid's Radial Menu to do so....
Select Program and for every command you pick from the program list, type the droid's name BEFORE the command itself.
Example: Select Store, then speak out loud (in spatial) Metallic store.... Then,open the droid's radial menu again... select program... select befriend... type (in spatial) Metallic befriend....
Repeat the process a few more times using different commands and eventually the droid will recognize its name.

* 25 characters or less
* No spaces
* No numbers (spelled out numbers are ok)
* Name is case-sensitive
And keep in mind the SOE name filter applies. If it rejects the name, you won't get notification telling you. It just won't take the name.
lol. I just made a joke.

Is there some reason why naming droids has to be so complicated? It seems like a lot of effort to change one string of text.My ship can travel faster than the speed of light, yet my astromech took longer to learn his name than the average two year old. Does anyone else see a problem with that?Personally I think that renaming a droid should be like naming your ship. Just open your datapad and do it. (And then watch the message "that name is unacceptable" appear on the screen...)Anyway...
Come on. That would makes too much sense! It's just like escort missions, those ships and go faster than they travel but NOOO, they go 100. But I'm going and little off topic and being alittle rude. If we could have a renewal of the DE prof. then a great deal of bugs and mishaps would be gone.
