Thread: crafting units not working in new droids?

i had a pre patch R2 unit with a food/chem crafter and 110 med module in it, it worked great, but i wanted one that was a different color and had a storage compartment as well.

i found a guy that could make such a droid and i got an R3. well when i pulled out the droid, the customization faded partly, and food/chem doesn't work (the R2 still works fine) but everything thing else seems to be intact. that was 3 days ago. this morning i pulled him out and it says the customization faded completely, he is a different color every time i pull him out, and the food/chem still doesn't work

is there a way i can have a DE check to see if this thing really does have a food/chem crafter installed, or if i got ripped off?

We've been hearing this a LOT lately... I'm worried that all the surgicals I've built over the weekend are trash. So far, I've been hearing it about astromech droids and about probots, no word yet on other chassis designs. I have not had any complaint emails from customers as of yet, and I hope this is a good thing.

Unfortunately, the ONLY test for whether or not a droid has a given kind of crafting station in it is to charge the droid and attempt to craft something. :-(

The DEVs fixed the public/private on saturday. Mine worked fine of me all day sunday. Make sure to give it a battery, then hope for the best.

Make sure that you aren't standing near another crafting station. Even if you can't see another crafting station, it could be crossing signals. I have this happen all the time at my shop. I have a couple of crafting stations in my basement, for ease of crafting in the shop, that sometimes cancle out the droid station. Another suggestion is to store then call the droid a second time. About once out of 100 to 1000 calls a droid will lose all of its functions for some reason.

well i tried it this morning, on the very edge of town where you can pull out a droid, gave it a battery, and no luck.

it is also changing colors everytime i pull it out, which is new....black w/ blue stripes, maroon w/ blue stripes, green w/ blue stripes, etc.

i think droids need ratings for a crafter and storage, just like they have for med module, but i'm sure you guys have already said that somewhere

As to the color thing, all r-series(maybe others, I have not verified others) droids do the color change thing until they are colored by a DE with a customization tool. Some people like being surprised, personally, I let em change colors until I find a combo I like.
